dobravery 49
Not to be a party pooper, but my Saiga came with a very clear warning not to handle the yellow wrapping and then your lunch without washing your hands. Who knows what toxic chemicals it's made from

rrr70 5
Some more of my Mall-ninjaed Saiga! Gecko45 would be proud! Just ordered triangle stock, front sight block and a '74 muzzle brake. Am I overdoing it? LOL Edited November 20, 2011 by rrr70
ChileRelleno 7,071
That ain't Mall Ninja. That looks very functional and aesthetically pleasing. Not overdone, add the new parts, sounds like nice upgrades. Too bad you're in Commiefornia, and have to have that other stupid crap attached to your AK..
Gh()st 3
Any info on how you fabricated the folder using the wood stock? You weld the tang back onto the folding mechanism?

iarneau 44
Heres the Sgl and Wasr. Gun Control- The theory that criminals (by definition, people who break laws) will follow a LAW that says they can't have a gun.
Sweetums 5
Hey all... First post, but I've been gathering info from the boards for a while. Many thanks for all the great posts that helped me get my new 7.62x39 back to its AK roots: Before, during and after pics:
CPF 80
All you need to do now is move that FCG up. Can't be back to its classic AK roots without that!
Sweetums 5
Yeah, another amateur gunsmithing adventure for another day... I had enough reservations installing the bullet guide and modding the mag catch for the first time!
CPF 80
Actually, you have already done the more difficult part of the two. I have more reservations about doing the bullet guide than I ever did for doing the FCG conversion. Its quite a simple task if you sit down for a few hours at a time. You just have to be patient with the rivets.
Sweetums 5
That's what it looks like. I guess I've always had reservations about tinkering with the mechanical parts that make it go boom... But then again, this is my first AK platform; I've been amazed at the simplicity, having only dealt with the AR platform in the past. Probably going to order parts next payday! CPF 80
Great to hear that, it really is great once you do the conversion, as you know exactly how every little piece does its job in the overall function of the gun. I was nervous with mine too, but I was so glad that I ended up doing it, it really does make a world of difference.
viktorgorchev 2
My newly acquired Saiga MK 7.62x39. Currently having some issues with the trigger, but I posted about that in the tech section. Really fun rifle otherwise!
HBrebel 5
Still need to install the AK-74 style muzzle brake. So far I have the Choate Dragunov stock, Tapco G2 trigger group, MAKO Uppers and Lowers, Burris Prism Sight. *Very* nice. I'm a big fan of the Dragunov stock on the Saiga. WHAT IS THE MATERIAL USED TO COVER THE BUTT STOCK? IS IT JUST ATHLETIC TAPE? UTG quick release side mount rail with a UTG 38mm red dot mounted. Hopefully i get to dial it in tomorrow. SAME SET UP ON MINE, WORKS GREAT
bigkane 2
Just got my IZ332 today, put 40 rounds through it without a hitch, then came home and installed the Tapco T6. Waiting on the muzzle brake I ordered to come in, so I can remove the protective thread cover and thread on some more good looks.
bigkane 2
Ok, finally figured out how to put the side rail on. Here's a pic of the other side with rail, and red dot.
