I saw a badass little springfield .45 at the gun show, I think it was called a ultra-compact. It was stainless steel, cost about $700.

Also, the S&W "trail boss" .44 mag is fucking crazy. It's really small for a .44, doesn't kick too terribly bad. My buddy has one, I stuck it in my waist band, it felt pretty good, about the same size as my glock 23.

Yeah, the one I saw didn't have wood grips, but pretty close. I loved that thing, just a bit out of my price range. I can't bring myself to pay more than $500 for a single gun. I'm still a cheap ass.

The above is a Colt Defender that has had a Wilson Beavertail, Wilson SS Mainspring Housing installed and has been Magna-Ported. I like this weapon for it's weight - i.e. alloy frame, Officer Size - i.e. 3" barrrel, accuracy, concealability and it is .45ACP.

The above is a Dan Wesson CBOB. It is a Commander Size - 4.25" barrel, SS frame and slide, it comes alreay decked out with the majority of options you would normally want, it is accurate, reliable and reasonably priced. NOt to mention it is also a .45ACP

The above is a Kimber Ultra CDP II and is Officer sized with an alloy frame, and comes equiped well, along with a Melt job (sharp edges are removed and it feels like an old bar of soap) Accurate, reliable and .45ACP

I ran out of memory room for pictures, sorry.

i'd get whatever you can shoot the best with, i got a SP101 3" with the extended hogue grip and trigger job, i get sub 1 inch groups at 15 yards rapid fire. But it wasn't that close grouped to start with, took a ton of $$ and practice. that springfield op is nice, but too big for conceal carry, i'd go with a G19 or the new G30SF, the 30SF is .45 acp single stack

The above is a Wilson Compact CQB with Officer sized grip and 4" barrel. It is a great choice for all the right reasons except price. .45ACP

The above is a Colt Government Model XSE built by Marvel Custom Guns and is covered in the Pistol section. .45ACP

You'll notice all of my carry guns are .45ACP. I have stuck with the Commander and Officer sized weapons although most don't have difficulty carryig a full size Government Model. I can show those if you like. :) You got pics bro.

I like the little Para double action 1911 style guns. I'd get it in 9mm, but they make the same ones in .45. Here's a pic of the .45.

It's double action, the hammer is flush with the rear of the slide. The trigger pull is really really light and smoothe. You lock it with the hammer forward. I don't like cocked and locked. Oh and it's a 1911 frame and all that, so you hold it like you'd assume you should hold a gun... and you can see the sights.

Well, badass and practical tend to be mutually exclusive. Badass and halfway concealable would be any large caliber revolver(460), a custom 1911 in .460 Rowland, an AMT auto mag, a Mateba in 454 or a Thompson contender 600 nitro. (Yeah right) Practical would be a G30, a PT145 or any of the common choices. Something that embodies both is a completely custom 1911, that's what I would get if I wanted a badass carry piece. Too bad they cost so much.

Oh yeah, this would be badass if you were a spy

Hello

Well, at the risk of appearing like a foul-mouthed dirt-farmer after the display of exotic gun porn above, I would have to second the nomination of the humble yet very utilitarian Taurus PT-145. Very small and reasonably concealable for its 10+1 .45 ACP firepower, quite accurate (although obviously no match for a 1911) and from my experience ultra-reliable.

Maybe the best part for a C/C weapon, they can be had for about $350 which is really a "sweet spot" for a pistol that is gonna get beat up a bit.

-Just keep it well-concealed at any BBQ that 1911 may show up to!

My Ruger P85 9mm feels about right for something small enough to carry without advertising, while large enough to get me out of trouble. If you don't think 9mm is big enough, you haven't been face-to-face with 15 rounds of Hydra-Shok hollowpoints. :)

It's small and cheap, but it's still my very favorite handgun. There's nothing special about it at all (except that it was a gift from my late father), but it's comfortable, reliable, and easy and cheap to use.

You all must be completely daft and out to lunch!!!

Clearly... the Tromix experimental pistol that BobAsh lost his tooth on, has to be without question THEE most "Badass Pistol" the present world has ever seen, no???
