VanKiller 322
Well I just felt the need to start one of these projects. With a Cutts Comp I should be able to keep the felt recoil down to manageable levels. Or I might just do it as a SBS and let people who piss me off shoot it............... scoutjoe 276
You're a sick man Tom Cole.... Can I shoot it ?
VanKiller 322
Joe, do you have a part time job as a "Crash Test Dunny" ? OK, Keep your eyes peeled for a Saiga range day in Cadiz, and you can come be abused by my inventory..... ....but I get the rights to the vids........ You're a sick man Tom Cole.... Can I shoot it ? TO THE FLOOR IN A 63 121
I was looking at trying something like this recently...does it clear the bottom of the magazines??? maybe a 10 rounder????
thehopping1 105
Or maybe the but can be elongated to be able to slide over it. This should be interesting.

Tx1021 0
I would love to have an underfolder s12! Cant wait to see the finished pics and vids
raidersfan_5544 57
Looks like your on to something here. It almost looks like a under folder from a MP40. Is that where you got your design? Is that a custom one off piece you made or an uderfolder from something else(AK)? Edited November 1, 2009 by raidersfan_5544
Coils 2
Is that a custom one off piece you made or an uderfolder from something else(AK)? It's an AK under folder, looks like a Yugo to me.
shades_of_grey 1,092
Heh, this idea of Tom's really is sadistic. The AK underfolding stock is pretty uncomfortable even firing 7.62x39, (as compared to other AK stocks). That stock on a 12-gauge firing high-brass... ouch. I can't wait to see the video. scoutjoe 276
Joe, do you have a part time job as a "Crash Test Dunny" ? No but I really dislike my shoulder and I enjoy recoil, why else would someone use a single shot 10 gauge to go after groundhogs OK, Keep your eyes peeled for a Saiga range day in Cadiz, and you can come be abused by my inventory..... ....but I get the rights to the vids........ As long as I'm abused in a classy fashion...I'm not into that amateur stuff
clifton 354
Not fer me,,, looks nice.. but under folders.. are so damn unforgiving...
G O B 3,516
I did a Yugo UF on the Wife's S-.410. It works well on the .410, but I don't think you can put enough muzzle brakes on a 12 to keep it from destroying the UF! P.S. UF clears a factory .410 10rd mag. VanKiller 322
LOL..............if you look at the total surface area of the butt of the yugo, then compare it to the surface area of the AMD butt on the folder I used in the vankiller video, I think they are about the same.........So maybe I should do a 12 inch selectfire on the underfolder for the sake of comparision................. Cobra 76 two 2,677
Now you're talkin! BTW...if recoil was too much of a problem for anyone shooting it, a plain ol' AK GL butt pad would fix that, no problem.... I think GOB had the best point...whether or not the folder itself can take it....
Azrial 1,091
Looks like fun! I want to try!
saigafreake 27
will this be the first time somebody has actually put a underfolder on a s12. ive only ever heard people say the recoil will destroy the stock no actual evidence of it happening.
Rich 3
Nice!! I'm not sure how it will play out, but you have definitely done us a favor in the interests of research and development!

That's what I was worried about. I believe I've read that they had problems with those stocks on ak's due to recoil. Perhaps some reinforcement, hardening and buffering will take care of that . R & D baby!
Eric Pate 478
Looks like your on to something here. It almost looks like a under folder from a MP40. Is that where you got your design? Is that a custom one off piece you made or an uderfolder from something else(AK)? The AK underfolding stock is almost a direct copy of the MP40's. Ya can't say the Russians were'nt paying attention when the Germans invaded.
VanKiller 322
The Yugo stock is well built. All of the week points are reinforced from the factory, so I think it's going to hold up. It won't be long till we all find out .......................
saigafreake 27
what hanguards and trigger guard are you going to put on it.
G O B 3,516
The Yugo's are well made, but I wouldn't do one on the S-12 as the folding mechanism just doesn't look strong enough for it. Hope I am wrong and yours holds up just fine. I did the S-.410 and a bastard parts (no 2 matching parts) AK for the Wife, and both with Yugo's and they came out great, she loves them. VanKiller 322
I'll be using my trigger guard and, of course, a Chaos rail ..... what hanguards and trigger guard are you going to put on it.
Gibbles 23
I want to try it. I'll even try it out with slugs. I love the looks of the underfolder AK's Everytime I try one on for size it just feels weird, I bet it will hurt with a 12ga.
VanKiller 322
Finished this little monster........ Now to find a crash test dummy................. Actually with the Cutts the recoil is not bad, even with high brass loads. I think this will be this years hunting gun.......
Eric Pate 478
Lookin good! Personally, I think that'd look great with one of Red Jacket's "AK Classic" press-on uppers. It'd look just like an AK underfolder.
David Mark 2,452
That looks excellent Tom! I want one!

VanKiller 322
Maybe I can find someone at the pit this weekend to try it on for size..............
