ATF head to resign My link

Report: Acting ATF director expected to resign

, USA TODAYUpdated 26m agoKenneth Melson, acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, is expected to resign within the next day or two, CNN is reporting.

The news comes in the wake of revelations about a controversial operation known as "Fast and Furious" in which straw buyers were allowed to purchase large numbers of weapons, some of which ended up in the hands of members of Mexican cartels, the news agency reports.

Attorney General Eric Holder will meet tomorrow with Andrew Traver, head of the ATF office in Chicago, about replacing Melson, CNN reports.

Melson leaving is only being done to placate Senator Issa. But this stunt isn't going to work as lives of officers were lost. Melson did not have the authority or was a lone wolf to execute this program without knowledge of Obama and Holder. Holder is a liar and a scumbag as well as Obama.

Heads should roll for this shit. People, not even just American LEO died directly because of this. Think about the f*cking law abiding FFL or gun store owner who made the legal sales. This is straight up bullshit. It's f*cking criminal.

You know what would happen to me if I broke federal firearms laws? I'd go to fucking prison, regardless of if someone died or not.

Hopefully, lots of light will be shed on this bungled "operation" during the upcoming campaign so that the boot to Obama's ass will be "Fast and Furious". It's ironic that he will now feel the heat from both the pro and anti gun circles. If this becomes a campaign issue he may be forced to solidify his true stance on the gun issue instead of mostly dodging it like he did the first time. This may be another huge nail in the coffin to go along with the rest of his bumbling.

Been a lot of people wary of Traver getting in as Head of the ATF... Looks like a done deal now... Lord help us!

This man is truly a danger to American Citizen's Rights & Freedoms.

Shit will go down hill fast, expect guns & ammo prices to skyrocket again.

About to get interesting...

"The Department of Justice will not, would never, retaliate against whistleblowers." -- Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich, testifying under oath, 15 June 2011.

ATF served Special Agent Vince Cefalu with termination paperwork today.

This whole thing is ridiculous, some of these guys should be arrested and charged with that border patrol officers death...Among other charges.

not just that death, but the death of numerous American citizens across the country in which they were directly responsible for. let alone for the deaths of the past 20 yrs. including Waco and Ruby Ridge. this agencies whole existance is unconstitutional. flat out.

Looks like Mrs. Terry is might just have Holder and CO. in her sights. Mrs. Terry and her lawyer might be the tipping point for ISSA to demand a subpoena of the ATF head, who seems like hes not to happy about getting thrown under the bus by Holder.

Mrs. Terry is on the warpath

Hopefully he can drag (Dick) Holder under the bus with him. Hell, we could use a house-cleaning at BATFE so the good people can do their jobs.

Let's be careful and not point too many fingers at the weapons being used, so much as the point being enforced that criminals are just that, regardless of the mask or badge they wear. In a moment of despair, the weak feeling like not even the highest moral code can be trusted, they are sure to, in their weakness, turn on inanimate objects to vent frustration. The longer this thing stays in the public eye the more suspicious I become.
