  1. I hadn't been as diligent on my mags, but was lucky to find that they all worked fine, except for 2 things. I only changed a couple of the feed lips (all of my mags were from the first batch), because they were working. Then I had a match with a cold day, and it got ugly finally ending with a fountain of shotshells I did not systematically test all mags extensively. I found one last Saturday that was feeding slow because the shells I was using drug near the top. I'll file it down like others have mentioned (alternatively, I'd just standardize on the shells that were previously wor
  2. Back to your problem. . .Remove the carrier and work the factory BHO, which is what I assumre you aer talking about. Does the trip tab by the trigger go up, and does the top part that locks onto the carrier go up no farther than the bottom of the round lower guide rail? If so, you need to gently bend the BHO until the top part stops against the carrier's guide rail. If it goes inside of the rail, it could be jamming up,but then, the trip tab by the trigger will pretty much disappear into the receiver bottom. It sounds like this may be your problem.
  3. I'd shoot it a bunch, then decide what you'd like to tweak. Area's to work on: Do you want it converted to a pistol grip? Get you mags/drums reliable (if they aren't). AGP's 10 rounders are the ticket! Factory 8's are good too, but pricey. 5 round mags have thier place. Figure out how you want to carry the mags. Vest, belt, etc. This can affect the reload style you settle on. Find the birdshot that it likes. Does the choke you have do what you want? Modified is a good all around choice, but getting the gun to take changeable chokes is better. Find the buckshot that it like
  4. You can't use a vertical foregrip (essential for good control and scores in legitimate IPSC/IDPA sports) with this bulky and awkward, and fatal to the S-12, political landmine. Even using a standard foregrip, the damn thing will hit your forearm constantly. Enjoy, folks. It's all gone now anyway.
  5. things have changed. drums should go forward, is what the 5 staff members here have decided, and this forum should back whoever is making them. this reply here that I am posting, please let's not start argueing in here. I would love to argue about it in the "fight club", if anyone is up to it. Im posting this here because it is an ongoing issue and concern for EVERYONE, and it has already been brought up by a couple of you. lets not get offtrack in this topic. with that said. it would be nice if the damned ATF would rule the drum and gun in combination is the DD, not the gun its
  6. I donæt, and never will understand people that try to profit from somethng that will wipe out there ability to profit. By that I mmean that many people make a living making S 12 stuff. In his attempt to profit from the gun, he is abou totwipe the gun out of existence. Real smart, right. I suggested what he should do in a PM. He knows. He is too young and hasnæt been reeading newspapers long enough to realize that he is ripping off my kids and grandkids. If he gets BATF approval, it will be conttradicting what they have done with the USAS and other guns. Do you see approval happening. .
  7. flashing drum mags around will do the job of stopping these wonderful guns from being importeed faster than Russian politics.
  8. To all I shoot Win silver box 8 and 7.5 all the time with no problems. As far as the hanging up goes, I had that with the Win AA which is high vel. Saigas love high vel for the gas pressure to run the system. The problem is that AAs are smooth, whereas the reds are riged. The ridges run over the spot between the two feed tangs just fine, but the smooth AAs have the equivalent of multiple flats on the leading edge, as oposed to the ridged shells, which are nearly perfectly round. The flats hang up on the spot between the tangs. The fix for ALL hangups is to grind a bevel on the leading
  9. I am dazzled. So all you guys don't care anymore if your kids, grandkids, or, hell, even you get to own, keep and use these fine sporter shotguns?? We now want to accellerate losing our rights? I remember when we used to all post things like," IF you DO ever design and or build one of these things, PLEASE!!! enjoy it in the privacy of your own home area and DO NOT post its existence and PLEASE do not post pics." If you really do love these fine Russian sporters, and if you REALLY DO want to own, keep and use them, then WHY TF?????
  10. With any optics that suit you, it'a a 3 MOA gun + or - at 100 yds depending in the luck of the asembly line draw.
  11. Before you listen to a bunch of conjecture. . .Romanians are the thinnest/lighest AKs around with a receiver thickness of 1 mm. Mostly all other Russian and Bulgarian (the closest to Russian) are 1.6 mm.
  12. Have a bullet guide in it, another (new) one on the way. If that does not fix it, I will resort to the dremmel. You will need to do BOTH: bullet guide AND dremmel feed ramp WITHOUT going into the chamber area when doing so.
  13. What did you do to get the '74 brake on? Did you buy a '74 or 101 FSB? Where? Thanks
  14. You are a good man. Without going into details. . . pride prevents . . .health and related job problems, otherwise I would have bought them by now. . .will explain if necessary woud be very grateful for 2 mags. Good man!
  15. Search this forum for examples of dremmeling a second "ramp" at the bottom of the opening of the chamber. That willl cure all your feed problems. Of course, I am assuming that you have added a bullet guide to the gun, which is also essential.
  16. Please remind me again of the contact info for Jeric's LRBHO. Thanks much.
  17. There was an image of an actual BATFE letter regarding the S-12 posted here several years ago. The BATFE itself listed what it considers the total number of "parts" (foreign) in a S-12, which was 13. That's from the horses mouth. I don't know how long this site keeps past posts, so I don't know how fruitful a search for the post with the image of the letter will be. To add a PG, you need to have no more than 10 imported parts on the gun. The 10 foreign parts shouldn't even be an issue unless you want to add a PG. If memory serves, the BATFE parts for the S-12 are: 1) receiver
  18. +1 !! It's the challenge of taking a point you may not personally be aligned with, and still doing a good job of arguing the point. Inasmuch as everybody knows your real position, you should get a huge A if the argument is done well. Go for it, dude!
  19. I could always use a few more 5 rounders, for those slug select stages, and several more 8 rounders.
  20. Ben: I just received an e-mail from your shop that said that you are out of mags, and that I am to be "notified" as soon as more are ready to ship. So, what's the deal? Do you have mags, and are shipping, or am I on a list because you are out? Thanks
  21. Like most of what the Brady website passes off as accurate information, of course it's NOT true. States with ZERO gun restrictions of any kind (yes there are a couple), Vermont, for one, has pretty much zero gun crime. States with liberal concealed carry laws have exceedingly low gun crime statistics. The Brady site has always sickened me. Nothing new here.

    "SHTF" = WTF

No comment pro or con. . .I'll let your intelligence, or the lack thereof help you decide. . .again, no particular thread, and no particular statement or viewpoint has been targeted. My shooting club was selected by the BBC, arguably the world's largest news gathering organization, for an "in depth interview about US second amendment people. . ." Waco, type psychos, or just family and law loving and abiding people in support of the Second Amendment. As it turned out, they decided not to do the piece at the last minute. My point. . . think how every thought, action and statement will re
  23. What cal is the Krink beauty???
  24. Just a point. . .there has alot of talk about the pics showing the receiver surgery Whilw there IS pics of the magwell, and the red color indicated the contact points for the magwell, all the rest of the surgery pics consist of the installation of a left folding stock, notr the magwell. Are there any additional pics/urls that address the magwell installation? Also, the Finns have told us that if you grind off the front metal mag lug, the mags will work with the magwells (at least the aluminum copies of them that the Finns made). Apparently, the friction and close fit of the well combine
  25. Guys: 2.75 to 3" groups are common to the Saiga .223, as they are to ANY 16" tatctical rifle, including my Colt M-4.
