Got the mags . All I can say is wow. Smooth polished awesomeness in a box. Seeing your first gen Saiga mags, and then through VEPR, and Saiga 12, and now to the M77, it's like evolution in progress. Are you sure you made these and didn't import them -- they look mil spec factory awesome to me!!! How long to the 10 rounders and maybe 5's? And maybe some BHO followers and of course NDM 86 308 mags. 2015 is finally a good year .

So removing the follower stops would let the current follower stop the bolt or would a new follower design be needed too? Any Time frame? I'll stay tuned. Almost forgot -- Are the 308 NDM 86 mags still a possibility???

These mags could use a bolt hold open follower option. Actually after trying Primary Arms' x39 BHO followers, I'm thinking lots of mags could. Any chance of BHO followers for some of your mags? I'd gladly buy replacements for your 308 VEPR and M77 mags, I have, and hope to have, if you run some in the future. Don't know if R&D would be too much of a pain...

How much longer than the 8 round factory mags are they? Edit: totally forgot to ask -- these can be loaded on a closed bolt without any fancy bolt work?

If You can't thread 1/2-28, a '74 FSB won't fit without reaming it out. You should just barely be able to thread the muzzle 14 -1. My 223 (ca. 2006) has the heavier profile bbl and I was able to thread it 14 -1, add the 24mm adapter and then 74 break.

Now that is a cool looking VEPR. Only criticism is your scope is "to damn high"

A cut tang version would be great for people like me that cut the tang (and now wish they hadn't) but I'm not sure how much of a market there would be. Wouldn't a simple solution be to weld the tang back on? I'm assuming the block attaches with two bolts -- one thru the tang and one under the recoil spring mount thingy. The stock may work w/o a tang using only the under recoil spring mounting bolt and drilling the bottom of reciever and tappinf the block for a mounting bolt (Button head cap screw for low profile) or maybe hiding it under the PG. Sounds like a plan to me, but if you absolutely have to use AK 74 mags (not the steel ones) in your Saiga you will need a bullet guide, Robinson Arms followers, and to extend the relief in the feed lips to hold the 5.56 case. If you can't find the ROBARM followers you can epoxie/JB Weld a ledge at the back of the follower that allows the nose of the round on top of the follower to dip as the mag is loaded to full 30 round capacity. This overcomes the totally wrong for 5.56 geometry that the 5.45 mag has. The top shell casing should align with the feed lips and not drop at the rear and the rest

Same thing happened to one of mine. Still works even cracked. I used a dremel and rounded off all the pmag followers so the bolt would ride over them. Plastic as a lrbho is a bed idea.

As much as I love JB I would not rely on it to hold the Bullet Guide in. Use a punch to shatter the tap (taps are hard, so they are brittle) and redo it with proper oil and slowness You may not even need to re-size the hole. Then use the JB like loctite (or just use loctite (Red), and your B.guide will be guiding for years.

Check the muzzle crown. You may have a Fri afternoon or Monday morning Barrel. Try recrowning it the poorman's way - Brass roundhead bolt chucked up in a hand drill with some valve grinding compound. Ghetto? Yes. but it Works. Of course go through warranty if possible. But if not, and the barrel passed the bullet test, other than ammo, I'd be looking at the muzzle. Edit: missed quite a few pages. If your bolt is overriding the cases your problem is with the mag catch. The rear of the mag needs to be higher. Building up the ramps is necessary to allow loading to full 30 rnd capacity (allows the rounds to dip at the front while maintaining alignment of the upper rounds waiting to feed) but probably isn't all you need to do to make them work. Basically you need the raised ledge at the rear of the follower, adjust the feed lips for the shoulder of the 5.56, and make sure that the bolt catches the round to feed it. Just soak, then heat, then EZout. If your EZ-out isn't twisted yet you haven't been cranking hard enough. I've got a big one that got twisted and bent trying to get an O2 sensor (threaded part left over after breaking). Put some muscle into it man . But watch them knuckles and fingers. Make sure you thank God for letting it be one you can get at easily. Now show it who's boss.

will an standard rpk handguard be easily mounted with a few mods? It shouldn't take much to fit an RPK lower, but the upper will need front and rear brackets and maybe some Dinzag magic.

RPK stock is pretty short - about the same as a regular AKM. The Bulgy style Grenade launching butpad (OEM, FSE or Leapers fit and add about and inch. Centerfire sells a 2 inch extended version of it which looks a little odd but does work for more LOP). These will also fit wood PSL type stocks. If you need a long Drag style stock in synthetic, the Choate is pretty long and spacers can be added to make LOP even more. The RPK stock show up from time to time on various for sale boards. Got the Grip pod version. Bipod is kinda useful. Also keeps your weapon out of the dirt. If you don't like front grips you don't need one.

I know what you mean. I'm the same with rail systems, don't really care for 'em 'cause they all look the same to me. The stock HG's look pretty damn nice as they are, add some cooling slots and they're pretty damn sharp. But these KVAR HG's add a little angel of death to the mix << >> We need an angel of death smilie ASAP!!!
