  1. I assume that he installed a bullet guide ? I like steel AK mags from comboc countries as well as bulgy waffle mags.
  2. I will take the Bulgy body for $15 if it is black or green . I do not want any of the clear type with the cracks.
  3. I have a .223 and a 7.62 Saiga gas tube.
  4. Yes you can get springs, followers and floorplates. They are not cheap though, just the followers cost me $4ea several years back from Kvar, I am not sure what I paid for the springs ,but they have them, you will have to ask the sweet girl from Texas and she will go ask someone and they will sell them to you. I recall buying 4 packs of brand new Bulgy mags in the mag pouch from Ohio rapid fire for $25 or $29 per set of 4. I hand picked a couple when I was in their store,I wish I would have bought more at the time. Mine are all chocolate colored brown (yuk)!
  5. Yes most gunsmiths can do this. I had my vepr turned down and threaded,so I could add a break or flash hider down the road.
  6. "Turned down" means to put in a lathe and remove some material from the barrel, because the barrel is too large to be threaded in the common thread sizes as it is. Hope this helps! A caliper will reveal the size of your current barrel.Check out Dinzags website he goes in to detail on the different size barrels and he may even have some pictures.
  7. Most should work .Yes the pins are hollowed on the ends and your removal mothod will work . That is what I did on my saiga conversion, when I removed mine to file. You can squeeze the new pin on the ends with a couple ball bearings or even those sling shot bb's they sell for the Wrist rockets by squishing them in a vice with a bb on each end or even a C clamp. I would do one at a time with a piece of wood as a backer on one side. I was able to slighty drill mine and punch it out and reuse it by flaring it with a bb. RTG in AZ has some New German kits with mag catch, spring and pin for $1
  8. CDNN did offer replacement springs for Steel 35rd Galil mags. I picked up a few just to have on hand. It might be worth a phone call or email?
  9. It could be binding up on the receiver or a screw if you reused the Saiga trigger guard.I had the same issue with a Texas trigger,I swapped out a Tapco for the Texas because I wanted the best and had to reinstall the Tapco G2. The AK trigger works the same as that of a M1 Garand. You might want to try to see if it passes the function test. Remove the cover and the bolt carrier, cock the hammer, then pull the trigger and the hammer hooks should release and the hammer should "go home". Now keep the trigger pulled and reset the hammer with your other hand and it should catch on the disconnector,t
  10. From what I understand, .223 can be run through a 5.45 mag but you'll need to change the follower and possibly tweak the feed lips a little. I know guys have modified East German bakes to take .223... personally I'd go with a Bulgarian waffle or Weiger mag. What is said here has been my conclusion.I have convereted some Bulgarian 5.45 and German bakelites for use in my Vepr using a Robarm followers and a factory Robarm convereted 5.45 German Bakelite mag as a guide. They do work and they do feed all 30 rds on both the Robarm converted mag and the ones that I convereted. This was a good op
  11. Has my MO arrived and my parts shipped? I sent a PM and have not received a reply yet.
  12. Those look very sweet! I wish I had a Vepr in .308 to try one out.I have 2 but not one in .308 yet !
  13. I cannot comment on his work. I did not look at it that close at the G/S.I have converted a couple Saigas, and I am currently working on #3. Maybee we could get a build party together sometime.I need to push off the GB on #3 and reinstall after adding the handgaurd retainer.
  14. Let me know what you are looking for ? I have a few take off parts if you are still looking ?
  15. I can't help with the spring , but I might have a 5.45 follower around. Let me look around and see what I can come up with . You can send me an email as a reminder . Pics of your 2 mags with the franken parts might also be a help.
  16. Jetmech, that is one of the gunshow guys that I was thinking of,I did not recall his name. I was going to have him do some custom work on my M44 moisan nagant. I have not used his services before. Have you had some bad experiences with him? Please email me if you do not want to mention specifics here,I understand.
  17. I am pretty sure Elk River tool and die does this also. You might want to hit the next gunshow in Pasadena, there are several smiths in the Houston area that offer this service. Like others have mentioned, you can take a stab at it yourself also.
  18. I will take the 2 Arsenal .223 mags and the Vepr 308 stockset and gas tube. PM sent!
  19. The followers do not interchange . Atleast not on the Bulgarian .223 and 5.45 magazines.
  20. Call Arsenal in Vegas and ask . I have had them sell me some parts that they do do offer on their website.I did get some springs once. Hope this helps
  21. You will need to measure your barrel at the FSB and at the GB and see if the od of your barrel will accomdate the ID of the New Bulgarian FSB and GB. Otherwise it is a crap shoot $. Hope this helps .
  22. I made the same observation on my Saiga.I had the same question as reveolver. Thanks for clearing it up !
  23. I think I have some spare Galil magazine springs . Mike
  24. I do not know about followers, but you can get US made floorplates to fit on the circle 10 mags.
