  1. I got into the game late as well. I can only get boners over some of the prices I hear about these things going for even only a year ago. But being *new* to rifles and shotguns, I figured $500-$600 was a pretty good price for a new rifle. I bought an S12 at the end of oct and it was around $569 at the local store, last of 20. Bought one 2 weeks ago at the local gun show, was $579. So I'm pretty happy with the prices, but rifles I've not seen under $400, at all. Looked in a few pawn shops, nada in Saiga. Picked up a 7.62 at a gun show last nov or so for $475 :/ and got a 308 for $479 2
  2. Thanks for the links guys, damn thats one distracting avatar.
  3. I would just say, if you're buying ammo out of a trade publication or person to person, I think you know what you're getting yourself into. If the guy buying from you has trust issues, he needs to go buy from Walmart or something then. I wouldn't think twice about sending a money order off to someone like this for ammo. I trust people first until they give me a reason not to in most cases. Even tho I've been burned by a few people, I still trust people inherently. I'd probably want to talk to you on the phone or something first, but other than that, wouldn't have a problem mailing the mon
  4. Why would you need an FFL to ship ammo? UPS ground delivers as long as you have the sticker on the outside of the box marked ordanance, etc.. If you're just talking about how to take payment, can use paypal if you have it setup which is pretty easy to do. Could always get a cashiers check or money order. But if you're just talking about mailing ammo, the basics for using UPS are... - It must be in a sturdy box. I usually reinforce the box by wrapping filliment tape around it in both directions and that satisfies them that it isn't going to break open. - Must be sent via ground ser
  5. Since you seem to be able to find about anything over there. I call dibs on hot young russian women seeking green cards Just name your price, or quantity of Vodka. Looks like you've got plenty of fun toys over there as well
  6. Another dead scum bag. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/breaking-n...ory/965735.html One man was killed and another seriously wounded in a shootout inside a Miami Burger King on Tuesday, officials said. Police said a man wearing a ski mask walked into the store at Biscayne Boulevard and 54th Street and demanded money from a clerk. A customer, who has a concealed weapons permit, pulled a gun, said Officer Jeff Giordano, a Miami police spokesman. The customer and robber exchanged fire. The robber was shot dead at the scene. The customer, who had several gunshot w
  7. http://www.mattsksupplies.com/ak47-polytec...-sets-p-18.html Still have that wood set for under $100. Think I picked up the last, or one of the last Red Russian Laminate sets he had. Red ones are really hard to find tho. This set looks nice if you're looking for cheap prefinished wood. I also browse through http://tickbitesupply.com/ak.html now and again, he usually has stock sets in and out of stock for good prices. Just need a gas tube and lower HG retainer. Found a nice looking Chinese set.. http://aa-ok.com/sections/29-4-pc-stock-se...ower-handguards
  8. Profiling... BAH. It's just called common sense where I come from. But that politically correct non-sense has been going on for I forget how many years now. We could probably discuss "profiling" for hours but all of this non-sense is the same at the core. Thankfully we do still have good LEO and Politicians (maybe a few?) that do have common sense and a good head on their shoulders. But it seems like we have more and more who just don't have a clue. Or aren't even capable of having one to begin with. Was walking through Costco over the weekend wondering what corner the Law School would
  9. It's definitely a good thing. If only the 80 million? or so gun owners would vote as a solid block one election. When it's all said and done I'm sure Holder will have the power to do pretty much whatever he wants without needing Congress to sign off. If he can't already. They will have much more clever ways of "banning" things if they really want to. Import laws, ammo laws, could be anything. And since Congress doesn't read what they vote on anyhow they could still slip it through in anything.

  11. Thanks, I enjoyed the read at least
  12. WTF is wrong with Missouri, seriously. Is it just St Louis bringing the whole State down? I might be old fashioned, not being from there, first thing I think of when I think of Missouri is the "Old West" and cattle towns and Buffalo Bill. Now it's just another liberal cow town. Seeing the same thing here in Virginia. Rural population far out numbered by the two maybe three inner-city/city liberal population centers.
  13. I'll be the first to admit I've not shot a gun much, and hardly consider myself trained to do so. But people are just freaking stupid. When I first thought of purchasing a firearm (a glock .40) the first thing I did was start researching it. I signed up for the pistol training course at the local range. I took that and got my conceal carry permit. I'm like most younger people. Everyone in this Country grows up thinking guns are cool. We're a gun culture, especially if you're lucky enough to NOT grow up in a large city. I might be giddy as a school boy around guns, and who doesn't
  14. I'm voting 8in for a few reasons. Easy to store and carry, am not using it to hunt or skeet, and god damn it's cool. Personally I don't have one but maybe one day. If I hunted and used it for things like that or skeet shooting who knows I'd probably vote another way.
  15. Exactly, why buy one when you can buy two at twice the price, or four at four times the price One case where the Gubment model of doing business works out in the end.
  16. Obongo is just soooo Presidential. He just oozes respect for the highest office in the land.
  17. I eagerly watched Geraldo when he was covering Hurrican Ike I believe it was. Fox had to be 5 seconds away from throwing up "Geraldo vs Hurricane Ike" logos and promos. No matter how much I begged, he never got swept out to sea or hit in the head with an airborne boat. Maybe one of these days. Glad I missed those two clowns chatting like school girls.
  18. Go Beck! We'll see if it holds. That ratings list is insane now, FOX with top 6 that is crazy. We're in for a huge roller coaster ride the next few years. I'm glad we have people like Beck.
  19. Explains something like this means to a newbie like me. Even if it's a few years old. I don't quite get it. Sounds like it would suck ass for the reloading community? Who uses military brass? Do the name brands buy it in bulk and melt it down for their ammo, that might make sense? Do they take the cases and use them as is. How does expelled military brass fit into the scheme of things, I wouldn't think it'd be available on the private market anyway.
  20. Those can't hold a candle to my limited edition plates. Selling like hotcakes I tell you.. Here is just a sample of the 12 months.
  21. Yeah we'll all take it right now. I'm thinking we won't see a ban anytime soon. But all it takes is one highly publicized event to cause everyone to change their beliefs and cry ban. Should be an interesting rest of 09 to say the least.
