  1. Shoot the hell out of it before you convert it. If you convert it first, and then you have a problem, its hard to tell whether you caused it or it came with issues. Don't worry about the gas system unless you have cycling problems. Don't forget 922r regulations when using high cap shotgun mags. Other than that welcome to the forum, and enjoy!!
  2. I was shooting at a local outdoor "range" a few weeks ago and I shot at a bucket downrange, some jerkoff had left a bucket filled with concrete on the range and received some birdshot back to the face which sounds like what your talking about. Probably not related though because I doubt your shooting at concrete.
  3. I really like the whole look you have going on here. The barrel shroud though, the only thing that worries me about it is that it could trap the heat in instead of allowing it to dissipate. Any problems with this?

    THE BEAST

That is a really nice gun, really nice!! Its like a shotgun had sex with a 1919a4 and had a beautiful shrouded baby. Seriously though I don't know how you can have your forward grip that far in front. That would be really uncomfortable for me.
  5. That's crazy. I bought one in the height of panic a couple months ago for my GF (just in case). Even with shipping and transfer I didn't pay $900 and that's with a California Mag Lock that normally costs an extra $50 or so to add on. But I really do my research before I buy to get the best deal I can. When it looked like Saiga's were no more to a lot of people one of my local dealers wanted $1,600 for a stock S12, so I really pissed him off when I told one I was having one delivered to his competition (literally on the same street about two blocks away) for about half that price.
  6. How about one of those drill bit heads that are supposed to pull any screw out? They kinda dig into the metal but it could work. good luck
  7. I'm thinking "Skeet on the Street" might work too. Sweet setup, I might have to roof mount my thrower on my tahoe now. My buddy custom made one that connects to the hitch on his truck. Works great.
  8. I plan on shooting mine till the damn thing falls apart so I don't give a crap about collectability. I do hate the crossed out importer marks on mine and some day I'll have to hit you guys up to get it fixed, I think its really ugly.
  9. Yes do the notch and also don't forget to put a bend in the spring. I had the same problem about a month ago, hasn't repeated itself yet thankfully.
  10. Do you want to use slugs or buck?
  11. How much you wanna bet when they find him he yells "They drew first blood!"
  12. How exactly is it "specifically for the saiga 12"? If it'll fit the S-12 receiver, it should fit any other standard, (not slant-cut), AK receiver. Semi-auto's fine for 12-ga. I want slide-fire stocks for my Saiga rifles. Very good point. My Saiga 12 with a slide fire would be more of a novelty. But my .308 with a slide fire would be GLORIOUS!!
  13. :super: But here's the real question, Will it work with or without the rear tang?
  14. Do you mean like this. don't forget to check out the second page. http://bbs.stardestr...=4&f=14&t=81902 Hi cobra do you like my new glasses??????? My favorite pictures from that link are the guy in the life jacket, and the other guy running and shooting with the feather duster in the other hand
  15. If I remember correctly making your own AOW is a $200 dollar tax stamp. For instance if you want to be able to put a forward vertical grip on a AR pistol in California then you would need to make it an AOW, send in the $200 bucks, wait on the stamp. However transferring the AOW to another party after the original stamp is already payed for is $5. I hope that clarifies it for you. The company building these (Serbu) already payed for the original $200 stamp to be able to manufacture it. That's why the price is so much higher than a normal shotgun. So in essence you are paying the $200 extra thro
  16. How much does he want for it? I've never seen one before but looks cool. I like what looks like a ghost ring front sight.
  17. man I watched the first two on VHS when I was a kid till they wouldn't work anymore
  18. Really there is a law that specifically says you cant have a drum and a folding stock at the same time? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Here in California you can't have a shotgun with a pistol grip and a folding stock. How stupid is that? You can take the stock completely off, as long as you meet overall length requirements, but no folder. I've been thinking about getting some thumb screws, or something even better, for a quick detach stock with a pistol grip. Always gotta find a loophole.
  19. I'm going to imagine they probably put that "post-ban" part on any auction for any magazine that holds less than 10 rounds no? There are still states that need to worry about post/pre ban magazines, and these people probably sell to those states. Here in California pre-ban mags refer to those purchased prior to 2000 when the high-cap mag ban went into effect. High-cap mags purchased prior to the year 2000 were grandfathered in and selling them afterward was/is a punishable offense. However I find it hard to believe that is what this seller is referring to, as the term Pre-ban is used f

  21. Put away the tinfoil hat dude. Nobody is coming for you. Even when the street sweeper/striker was declared a DD and no longer allowed to be imported the old ones were grandfathered in. My friend legally owns a street sweeper to this day. The ATF was/is looking into the IMPORTABILITY of the Saiga shotguns in their current imported form. There is no discussion into making the already legally owned Saiga shotguns illegal. There is also nothing illegal about taking a shotgun imported in a sporting configuration and converting it to a non-sporting configuration, as long as you follow 922r guideline
  22. I believe it depends on the importer. What is yours stamped with? Mine is a Legion out of Las Vegas, so I would contact them to see who does their warranty work if I needed to.
  23. That does suck, but you would still be hitting center mass and I only look at my Saiga .308 as a battle rifle anyway. My .308 isn't much, if any, more accurate than that.
