Guys, I am speaking for everyone by saying please start a new thread to continue to lengthy conversations that do not contain VEPR 12 pictures, and please try your best to keep this a picture and gallery thread for VEPR 12's please. Thanks in advance comrades. Since the holidays are here, let me revive one of my holiday pics of the VEPR 12: Here's a picture of her that's been used by other users in tumblr posts:

That part is technically the striker. He's looking for the firing pin that pushes the striker after the hammer hits it.

I looks like you got in on the black friday centerfire deal. That's the best deal I've ever seen, good job snatching it up. The V12 is the most fun to shoot and is a real crowd pleaser.
-
If your firing pin was bent to begin with, it will most likely become stuck and cause a slam fire. Simply replace your firing pin. Please contact and inquire with Molot USA Customer Service.

The importers should have the warranty information for your V12. Which importer is engraved onto your receiver?

You would get LRBHO + BOLT RELEASE BUTTON (without having to rack the bolt to release it).

Just wanted to share with you guys my experience this past Saturday with rifled slugs on my V12. On the left are two different shots (1 from me, and another from an Army buddy, both at 100 meters, we hit basically the same spot with a red dot). The right is a shot by me from a 270 winchester at 100 meters.

I've never cleaned it because I wanna see how reliable it will run since it's an Kalishnakov AK design. It doesn't require lube, so do not get anal about keep her wet. Just like Jim Fuller said, "If it runs dry, it will run wet." The only thing i've done is wiped the puck down with a rag. If i ever do decide to clean, I will use FIRECLEAN, simply the best hands down.

can over gassing cause malfunctions on the v 12
DresNightfire replied to brad cole's topic in Vepr-12
Always try a lighter recoil spring and polishing the bolt and trigger face before messing with the gas system ports. Because you can't un-fuck gas ports once they are too large. -
Can you elaborate? I had issues with my trigger, as well. Several times I experienced the trigger hammer not being released after pulling the trigger. The slide was already racked (and the hammer was locked back). I visually inspected it each time as well. I threw in the trigger from Texas Shooters Supply and had zero issues since (an added plus is that it adds 3 parts for 922r compliance). What failure did you experience?

-The finish on my VEPR 12 is superb. I ordered two VEPR 12's and the second VEPR 12 finish was sub-par and required a refinish. -SGM (12 and 10 rounds) mags require a bit of custom fitting on the mag for smooth insertion. -The upper handguard was a breeze for me to remove/install as well as the 2nd VEPR 12. -You have to admit that a factory Saiga 12 (I had one also and sold it for a very good profit after conversion) was no where near the quality of where a factory VEPR 12 is. I ordered two Saiga 12's before and they were both horrible in quality standards and required lots of TLC. -I high

Feeding Issue with Factory 8 Rnd VEPR 12 Magazine
DresNightfire replied to warthog984's topic in Vepr-12
Ladies, less yappin' and more pictures/videos please. We need pics of the magazine, point of error following your replicated issue, and questionable parts of your vepr 12 that may not be functioning correctly. There are more than one possible causes to a symptom, and we need to diagnose it correctly. -
He's still on the ak forum. I bought one of the ones he had specially machined for replacements about a year ago. Folks seem to be pretty happy with the sub-$100 microdots from Primary Arms. They were sold out for some time, but are recently back in stock. I just read that he is out of the business, but his daughter is running the operation now. I will give them a try and see if it pans out. I am afraid the cheap microdot sights... I bought a Sig micro-sight (Aimpoint T1 clone) and used it for a while on my S12, but it failed not too long after I started using it - that is why I w

That $80 modified Tapco trigger from TSS is the same exact modifiedone we sell for $45. Drops right in with no mods. I do believe many owners here also have the CSS G2 Tapco modified trigger as well (CSS will more than likely deliver your trigger to you faster), but Dimitri of Texas Shooters Supply has told me that they do a couple things to them - including sand blasting them, but visually I couldn't tell the difference. I picked it up in person because I was able to drive to Texas Shooters Supply in person as well as check out their little store front - LOTS of AK goodies.

I highly recommend the VEPR 12 FCG from Texas Shooters Supply. Zero mods on the consumer end, and it drops right in, switched mine out in 15 minutes tops. I'm not sure how to widen the pin tube except for using a round file or a tungsten drill bit with a dremel, which still could end up not fitting perfectly. Good luck!

Is there a Factory Molot 10 Round Magazine for the Vepr-12
DresNightfire replied to Sharky's topic in Vepr-12
BTW I have tested the 10 round molot arms magazine (dupont coating) while shooting clay a couple weeks ago and it functioned flawlessly with the LRBHO working 100% of the time. I even dropped the mag from hip height onto the ground and it still ran fine. -
on the topic of factory molot arms 10-round mags, they were a hit or miss for me, so i made sure the shipper tested the mag by filling all 10 rounds before shipping. i tested the molot arms 10 round while shooting clay and it functioned flawlessly. PZ mentioned the real molot factory will offer real 10 rounders in the future, no specific date... please read the warranty guidelines for the mags before sanding. you may need to call SGM first and have them swapped out.

I have a friend in Hawaii that has the new version, with his optic mounted on over the ejection port and has had no problems with ejections so far. I'll keep you updated with his experience.

I wish we could get in Molot Arms offerings here in the US... look at this delicious IPSC wild boar... http://molotarms.ru/index.php?p=shop&action=showproduct&id=431&cid=18&pname=karabin-gladkostvolnyi-039-vepr-12-molot-039-vpo-206-430-dlya-ipsc

I'm interested as well, thinking about picking up the 3-set (modified, full, and extra full). Let us know if anyone has any experience with these! Here's a good read up on the choke distances: http://www.briley.com/understandingshotgunchokesabriefexplanationbybriley.aspx
