  1. Assuming a 25 yard shot to the front of a theater, rested off a seat back, with a .357.....maybe.

    Sight options

Planning an eventual saiga build. I do have a spare gas tube and block. I'm interested in a front sight out in "front AK sight area", i.e. just behind the chokes, and a rear sight about where the current one is. The current front ball sight might get removed. Also interested in putting an upper handguard on the weapon. I'd like the gun to look "stereotypically AK". However, I'd like to have the sights thin enough to reliably blast skeet, in addition to ground targets, so the wide military sights like on my SKS may not work. I like the current sights, I just would want a longer radiu
  3. From what I understand, if you shoot someone in an armored vest, they are not going to like it. Most cops that take hits in the vest get knocked down, wind out of them, and get dragged off by their buddies to recover. If this dude had caught any pistol round in the vest, he most probably would have staggered or fallen, allowing someone to rush him and either demand surrender, or, more likely, put one in his head.
  4. No, the police shouldn't have arrested any of them. But, they all should have had broken jaws from getting clubbed in the face by their batons. It's amazing how pain and injury work on animals and humans. You learn real fast not to do that again.
  5. Big difference between a .308 case and a 12 gauge hull.
  6. I might be interested. What do you offer that the other guys don't for the price you have listed?
  7. Might be a bad assumption. Also, not to be pedantic, but those indentations are stamped, not engraved.
  8. So, Horse, here's my issue. I don't have a high point. I've never shot one. So, I have no firsthand experience. But, I see kaboom videos on youtube, and hear more stories about them than any other pistol. Now, I own HKs; I may be a snob. HK is my favorite pistol brand. But, I own Tauruses as well. Other than some trigger work on a Millennium and a PT740, all of the Tauruses have been fairly good. People love to rag on them, too, but only like 10% of the ragging that Hi Point receives. So, what do I believe? The hate is just hate? Or the guns have issues? Or somewhere in between?
  9. I can only assume that you're talking to me since I started the thread. I'll try to respond coherently. I didn't throw a "hissy fit" because Hi-Point and Kel-Tec's business plans didn't cater to my individual needs. I merely stated they had lost a sale and my money would go elsewhere. Simple enough. I fully realize business ventures depend on far more than raw supply and demand. That being said, IMHO any company that has chronic shortages for a period of several years is permanently missing out on potential profit no matter how you slice it. Please explain to me how that statement is inval
  10. I write fantasy novels as a hobby, I come in to firearms forums to get away from grammar and punctuation... "Forsooth," I proclaimed to the dame, "Your insistence upon the use of the language of our fathers has cooled the fire in my loins, thus I cast you out to the wastelands. Begone, wench!"
  11. I once made an awesome freehand head shot on a rabbit at 75 yards with irons on a 10-22. Problem is, I was aiming at the rabbit next to it for a chest shot.
  12. Dude! PARAGRAPHS! That being said, many people erroneously assume that a company is out there to make the most sales it can at any given time, and get all righteous with their "There's a sale RIGHT HERE and you are failing because you are not getting it to me." This is not true. A company wants to maximize profit, but at minimal risk. This is why overtime exists; you can scale it back if you need to do so. A company that overextends is a company that fails. Providing a good product to most ensures your reputation, and there is actually a business plan involving creating more demand
  13. Yeah, and a bunch of Inca/Aztec/Meztec-Spanish half breeds have precisely dick to do with being Latin. Latino, or the equally offensive bitch term latina, is stupid. I am tired of race bullshit.
  14. There is too much tolerance for deviant shit in the world today. The internet is a freak amplifier. Normally, someone would be into weird shit, and then grow out of it. Maybe. But, the internet makes it so he can find friends, and legitimize his deviance, and become permanently fucked up. Moral relativism and "it's not ok for me, but I won't say it's not ok for you" shit will kill this country. This brony shit is one step away from NAMBLA, and members of both groups need a pneumatically propelled lead ball slammed into their nuts at high speed, with repeat performances for the stubborn
  15. You were wrong. You used "that" when you should have used "who". Anyway, I have indeed fired a couple over the years. They're nice pistols, but as I said, definitely overpriced. Either term is acceptable. Also, I fail to understand how people will plop down 500 for a Glock, but a 700 HK is overpriced. I can clearly see where the extra money goes.
  16. Hey dude, if you're going to try to jack with my grammar, at least make sure I am wrong, lol. I'll put you down into the "never shot one" camp.
  17. HK is really where is it at. The people that say they are overpriced, have never shot one. The USP is about the best service pistol, and the match trigger is nothing but pure sex. I freehand paper plate sized dingers at 100 yards with my Elite model. Retardedly accurate pistol. I like my USP compact, and I like my P7 as well.
  18. Glocks are ok. The trigger is ok, the look of the gun is ok, the accuracy is ok. I'll probably end up owning one (I've shot several) someday, and that's fine. I'm not sure I'd call the gun a Toyota Camry, I think Toyota works on their design aesthetics a bit more than Glock does. Maybe a (pre-suck) Jeep.
  19. Here's the other problem. If you are unknown to someone, and you try to "take charge", you might end up being as much of a threat to that person than the threat that already exists. No one has the right to command an American citizen, the military might, under certain martial law circumstances, but even the police cannot command you unless you are being detained. So, Joe Blow that has some rambo weapon, but looks like Peter Griffin...no, I'm not listening to him at all.
  20. I seem to recall a lot of liberal gun-hater bashing from Michigan people to Kalifornicators recently. Maybe it was a little re-directed self loathing, lolz.
  21. Brass usually is, and always has been, brass. Clips and mags are what they are, people are idiots. I call it converting; restoring is what you do to a 57 Chevy. Literacy and grammatical skills, despite what people think, are not going down. The people you see on the internet making stupid spelling and grammar errors are the ones that, in the past, read nothing, and would only write when they had to make a note for something. 50% of the world is of below average intellect.
