  1. Whats up Brother! you got a .223 with dimples FSG and GB ? and want to install a Bulgarian FSB on it? First you have to see if your barrel is heavy barrel or a thing barrel on the rifle get a caliper as the block have to be .004 ID over the OD diameter of the barrel to be press tight on it. And I mean tight. Now if your FSB and GB are dimpled on the barrel and not have any pins on the FSB you may do this http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=21144 to remove the FSB latter on you are going to have to notch the barrel for the pins of the Bulgarian FSB or press the FSB
  2. 18 is legal for a long gun in FL Yup, like the brother say, 18 for long guns.
  3. The man is right on the money, when you chamber a round the bolt aligns with the chamber, if the bullet guide is to high the bolt will get stock and dont close or half close, that is why when you do it with a empty chamber the bolt will close but with a round will get stock if the guide is to high.
  4. LOL, 3/4 black iron pipe, guide about 1/2 long like that you can use AK mags ,Saiga and anything else, use 8-32 screw , nice bevel on the end about 45 degrease, a nice countersink hole for the screw on the guide, how hard is that to do? I mean guides for the 7.62x39 are the easies to do you guys make it sound like rocket science. The only way will affect accuracy is if your bullets are deforming as they feed cause bullet tips and cases are hitting some part of the guide were the guide has a sharp side or guide have been grind to much and at some point the bullet tips hit part o
  5. Brother looks like you havent push the mount all the way on the rail, as the part you are showing on the picture is not the stop of the mount on the rifle rail, if you using that part to stop the mount on the rail that is why is shave. The rail stop is all the way in the back inside the braket on the scope mount.
  6. On some old ones I got .060 over bullet diameter, on some new ones I got .040 over bullet diameter. and on one I got over .0065 over bullet diameter. If you are going to ream a 5.45 to 7.62 x39 ( .311) if you are not going to use a muzzle brake reamer go .060 over bullet diameter because some times the 24 MM brakes wobble a little and that will give you enough tolerance for the bullet to go true and don't hit the waffle and still dont loose a lot of properties on the brake. You can go less even .020 but you better align the brake with the barrel right on the money and use a brake re
  7. Because the OD of the barrel and the ID of the FSB, you can press on Bulgarian GB and FSB on the 7.62x39 with out to much work. Plus people that like the gun looking like a AK-100 series go for them or even if you want to install 24 mm Brakes and Flash hiders that is one more reason. As if you install a 24 mm flash hider or Brake you going to need the bayo lug on the FSG and not the GB to install a bayo on it if you want to use a spike on you gun that is another reason.
  8. LOL is a lot of stuff out there, gunkote, moly resin, duracote, cerakote plain grey phos, black phos. All depends on what you want to do, heat, no heat, one color, camo, paint plastics on gun too... The best to clean duracote is MEK for air brushes or any other stuff and excellent degreaser no residue on metal after it evaporates.
  9. I did a saiga front hang guard on a 7.62x39 on a Vepr ultimak , just to make the rifle workable until the new hand guard is install. Yes it can be done with hand tools, I have few different saws with really fine teeth to cut in plastic, but you can use a hand saw with a fine teeth blade and will cut the plastic really good after that sand to make it look nice just cut nice and slow on mark done with a pencil on the plastic hand guard. I usually use a adjustable square to do my markings on stuff.
  10. Damn brother, you got me in a bad time as I just got a Vinyl cutter if not I will take it out of your hands. As I shoot it on the Saiga shoot out and is a really nice gun to have. People this is your chance to get a really nice gun and I mean real nice gun.
  11. Brother that looks like a Krebs KTR, he used Vepr and Saigas but he change how his KTR looks now you can call krebs and see is he sale you the parts. And I mean talk to some one that knows whats cooking over there not a secretary or the guy that just takes orders. To do it that way, is to press the FSB, GB and the rear sight block, and press the new parts back, the hardest part will be to find the parts and not really the work. Plus you will have to find a cover with a rear sight on. One thing you have to remember even if you get the parts, the FSGB have to be for the
  12. Why would anyone go on the right side of an AK anyways... However, that raises another question. What if you are using dual mags with a mag coupler? Wouldn't a folder complicate things? Why not?
  13. The bakelite is pretty crude looking, but it goes with the wood/bakelite furniture. It kind of grows on ya. To tell the truth looks pretty good on the gun.
  14. Wow that came out nice brother. And you not need to thank me doing great work like that is the best thanks I can get and happy to see that the kits really help you pressing your parts off and on on the gun. Brother it really came out excellent.
  15. If you want to press stuff off, and press new parts back on the gun, use Bulgarians parts FSB and GB they will fit a Saiga 7.62x39 no problems, if you press them off install your retainer plate too and you are done. The Bulgarian GB has a 90 degrees port on the part if you going that way. http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?prod...=292&page=1 http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?prod...=290&page=1 On the FSB you can install 24 mm brakes or flash hiders. K-var used to have a Bulgarian GB cheap with out the bayo lug but still have the opening for the cle
  16. I was thinking on the Atlantic fire arms tantals, I really don't read the hold post of dobravery when he say on the bottom of getting a Century built one . I don't know about Century ones, I have never got anything from them cause of reputation but for what I see is hit or miss big time with them, I mean you can get a decent shooter or the worst crap, some guys swear by them and some swear at them. That is the problem if you get a lemon you are screw. And if what uechiguy says is true you really screw if they do 5.56 barrels to be use on 5.45 what kind of accuracy can you get out of th
  17. I take them. Please let me know on a PM were you want payment send.
  18. Get the Tantal, get some ammo use it and see how it shoots and if works good. If everything OK get all the ammo you can buy, latter on if you change your mind can always sale it. Guns are not getting cheaper as time passes by. The 5.45x39 is not a bad round, I have go true 1/4 of a inch plates and still hit stuff in the other side at 100 meter like nothing. If you get surplus FMJ some will be with the hollow space under the tip of the jacket, that makes the bullet tumble as it hits stuff, but some surplus don't have it. Still I will don't want to be hit with any I guess will pu
  19. Interesthing, I will say if U have a judge have to be pro builders.
  20. Don't feel dumb brother, not a lot of people know how to fully work the Russians scopes and red dots plus is not to much info out there in English on how U fully use these things. Any way good luck and enjoy your gun and scope.
