  1. I have used Alumahyde and like Gunfxr said, it is good but not as tough as duracoat. I usually use Brownels gun coat. If you are just going with basic black it is the least expensive. It comes in many colors but you have to have a small sprayer or air brush. The black comes in a spray can. I heat the parts for 5 to 10 minutes and spray it. That way it goes on and makes a nice flat finish and hardens fast enough that you don't have to worry so much about runs. Then you put it back in the oven for an hour. Once it cools you can reassemble and your done. The Alumahyde and Duracoat has to have tim
  2. Ditto. Have 7 in transfer. Real late and what a mess it seems. never had this issue before. At least the price is well From what i hear, the Russians raised the price on the incoming batch.
  3. Yours is stamped. The ban that made it a sin to have a bayonet is over. I think that it is okay to put one one there now and they are not very expensive. A couple of the shops around here still have boxes of them that they removed from guns they sold during the ban and they ussually end up in the bargain bins. They are good guns. I had one with the milled trigger but I didn't notice any differance in they way it functioned. I believe the stamped ones were just to save cost of production. Your rifle looks like it takes the spike and not the blade type.
  4. Mike I just received the email from you about the drum. I went into this deal knowing that the drums were not ready and feeling that the projected production and release time frames were optomistic but not a reality. I did not say anything because I did not want to discourage anyone. I know how things get held up waiting on other people. There are also countless other problems that come up and slow progress. I have had this happen every time I have been involved with anything like this myself. I just went through it with another project that was supposed to be up and running more than six m
  5. The distributor I work with is getting his shipment in August. He is getting quite a few but I have learned not to count on them until I see them on the shelf.
  6. I had the same problem with one of our SWAT Bennellis. I corrected it by removing that stupid gadget that lets you remove the magazine spring and I slid an 870 follower in its place from the other end. The spring now stays in the gun where it belongs. I can imagine what he was feeling when his magazine spring came shooting out the front of the gun when he needed his gun the most. For close in the shooting spring is not a bad option. If you are lucky, you might put his eye out giving you enough time to beat him to death with your expensive imported club. One of the other Bennellis had both the
  7. This guy is good for those of you that have never heard of him.
  8. All you guys that received your MD drums from these hot naked ladies are lucky. All I got was a Wraithmaker and a naked Bea Aurthur from "Golden Girls" delivered it. That was several months ago and I'm just now able to talk about it. I've been in counselling and on medication from the experience I had that day. Seeing Bea Aurthur naked didn't help either.
  9. It embarasses me to admit it but I had a similar incident at SWAT training. At the time, SWAT was issued the Sig 220 in .45 while the rest of the Dept. was issued Glock .40's. One of my SWAT guys came to me because his gun was acting up. He is an excellent shot but that day he was unable to shoot a group smaller than 2 feet. He said the gun never malfunctioned but the accuracy was gone and he did not know what was causing it. I took his gun and asked him to hand me one of his loaded magazines so I could test fire it. When he handed me the mag, I noticed the flat nose rounds he had loaded in
  10. I bought a sig 220 tactical combat in December. It is basically the same set up as yours only it came in an earth color. The suppressor is going to cost as much as the gun. I traded in my Sig GSR. I already had a Kimber 1911 and it is a better shooter than the GSR was. I have a 226 and it is a tac driver. Great gun and welcome home.
  11. I think you will appreciate the converted version a lot more if you shoot it before doing the work. The unconverted trigger sucks. Shoot it first and then feel the differance after it is done.
  12. SAR has worked in all of mine including the .223 and the S12.
  13. They are both very nice shotguns. Our SWAT team issues Bennelli's and I have shot side by side against them. My converted S12 has less recoil, holds more rounds, and is more reliable, and reloads faster. The Bennelli has trouble with low power and bird shot. Once they are very broken in they seem to function with high power bird shot. We went to Orlando for the SWAT competition and I had already tested our Bennelli's with bird shot because I knew that was all they were going to let us use. We left the Bennelli's in the van and used our old 870's. The other SWAT team in our county used th
  14. Sorry brother that may have been my fault. I posted the negative comment on your thread which was deleted by Jugs. I realize it was the wrong place to put my opinions and did not mean to hijack your thread. Have you tried yours? I may work in your gun. Mine almost works and I think if I had the time I could get it there. It looks like the angle for the shell going into the chamber is a little too sharp. I tried several different loads. Some loads would not chamber because of the angle they would jam up on the top of the chamber and bend the edge of the front of the shell. I tried anothe
  15. Sorry guys it was me. I just thought that calling it the "Izhmash Tomix Colt Winchester Remmington Bvamp Cobra Dinzag 12 gauge Weapon of Death and Destruction to all things Unholy" was a little to long so I shortened the title a little. Seriously though it does say something when a product name becomes synonamous with a general product. Like Coke. People use Coke to mean pretty much and type of soda. You don't have that happen if you produce crap. Notice that Ishmash is aslo spelled wrong. He also did not list it as "Izhmash Wraithmaker tactical shotgun". Sorry, I couldn't hel
  16. Unfortunately, not everyone will prepare themselves for times of disaster. I see it here in Florida every time we have a hurricane come through. People choose to ignore the possibillity that something might happen that will leave them and their families without basic needs or possibly put there wellbeing in danger. "It will not happen to me. It always happens to the other guy." is the attitude most take. They are too conserned with "now" and buy things that make them happy and content right now instead of making ready for the future. Hurricane Ivan hit our area pretty hard. Seems like no
  17. I have not had that problem with Olympic arms not dropping the mags. Is this something new or do you think the mag release button just needed to be backed out a couple of turns?

    Belt Fed?

I want one. Then I'm going to get one of those Ass Hat auto conversions and cut the barrel down to about 5 inches just to see how much of the alphabet I can get to come to my house for a visit.
  19. There have been a lot of posts in reference to building AR's. This may help those that have never put one together for themselves. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&...=4&t=226782
  20. I know guys that use "Model 1" and they have no complaints. I prefer CMMG or DEL-TON. They have a variety of quality parts. DEL-TON offers rifle kits that you can customize to your specs. You can also choose from several different manufacturers (DPMS,Olympic,Wilson ect...). Wilson is their low end upper option which is not bad, Rock River uses Wilson uppers on their rifles and I have only heard good comments about RRA rifles. If you can find a local dealer that will sell you a striped lower at a good price start there. Once you get the lower receiver, look into a kit. Most kits are the
  21. If you are going to the trouble of baking it, why not get a can of Brownell's gun coat. It's $20 a can and you can do about three guns per can. I always heat the gun at the recommended temp for about ten minutes and the spray it while it is hot. It goes on with a nice flat finish and drys almost instantly cutting down on the smell. You end up with a much more durable finish than what you get with paint. It also seals the metal better and moisture cant get to it. The smell is really bad if you fail to get all of the oil out of those hard to reach places. Acetone works well at removing th
  22. I wish I would have known that when I had my 4506.
