  1. Would that work for flash hiding?? I'd be in for one if it didn't cost a whole lot. Acer
  2. I heard someone say that Cerakote will just shine up, instead of scratching. YMMV Acer
  3. "Why was he traveling with that rifle in a bag? I asked police if he had any family in the Albany area, they would not say." Seriously?? When did it become suspicious to travel with a gun? Acer
  4. Hehee, I just sent a "petition" email congratulating the FWS on their work, and promoting hunting of "sea kittens". I forgot to copy the text, but maybe it'll copy it to the email I used. Take that PETA! Acer EDIT: Got it! Subject: Go ahead and live up to the mandate to conserve and protect: Promote Hunting of Sea Kittens The Fish and Wildlife Service's promotion of fishing is a perfect realization of its mission. Neurobiologists tell us that sea kittens have nervous systems that comprehend and respond to pain, and that, when it comes to the ability to feel pain, sea kittens are
  5. Gyms are for pansies. I lift trees all day for exercise. I couldn't imagine going to a gym to work out. Isn't it ghastly boring? The way I see it, the time you spend in a gym staring at a wall or TV could be spent rock climbing, or tree climbing, or biking, or hiking, or running, or walking, or pogo sticking, or riding ostriches, or hula hooping, or any number of social activities that also develop muscles and burn fat, but are out and about. Just my thought, Acer
  6. I'm betting on places in Texas, and lots of places up and down the Appalachians. Have gas and guns, will travel. Acer
  7. At the top left of the thread, there's an "Options" menu. One of the options is to "track this topic". You can set it to send you email updates, or not. Acer
  8. I'll go with just a plain drill bit and dragging it through the HG. It's not a terrible pattern, just kinda sloppy. Acer
  9. I had a 24/7 Pro in .40 for a while, but traded it for a CZ-75B in .40. It was a nice gun, but being a lefty, I needed the right side safety. They're coming out with DS models with decockers and a safety on both sides, and I would have traded up to one of those, but there were never any at the gun shows. The polymer frame made it very light, but recoil wasn't bad at all. I give them a thumb's up! Acer
  10. If you went with a tac flashlight, you could use something like this. And I KNOW I've seen it around, but somebody makes a product similar to the one I linked to, but it's got a rail at 45° and would probably be perfect. Acer
  11. I've seen models that were able to take AK mags. Is this something that can be done post-factory, and does it screw up reliability? Thanks, Acer
  12. Yep, the .308 doesn't require drilling any pins out. Just push the pins out while holding the retainer spring out of the way, and they should come right out. Acer
  13. Heh, interesting idea. You'd have to watch your toes when you fired it off. Probably be a better idea with a pump gun, less chance of multiple shots, but still not entirely a harebrained idea! Keep it up! Acer
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you use the Russian 8-rounders, 922® doesn't apply since one of the "evil" features that invokes 922 is a mag with > 10 rounds. At least that's how I've always heard it. Quite possibly talking out my ass, Acer
  15. Wow, I'm honored! No problem, dude. I like the bigger tube of #1, but pretty much agree with Bilo. Maybe bend the small tube a little. I dunno, I'm bored and like fooling around in Paint. It's cool to see ideas become concrete! Acer ETA: Just noticed stock #2 has the weld further up the tube. IMHO, that distance/angle fits the stock better than on #1
  16. Wow, gear at decent prices! I can smell my pocket smoking now! Acer
  17. Dip all your cases in hot rubber. That way when they hit the charging handle, they'll bounce off instead of getting dented. Seriously dude, I think you're doing it backwards. Just put a little section of fuel line over your charging handle, or dip it in that liquid rubber for tool handles. The force will dent pretty much any case, not just the softer brass ones, even steel Wolf. Not trying to rain on your parade, just seems kinda roundabout, Acer
  18. Nice job! I thought it was a store-bought one at first! I screwed around with your picture in Paint to show what I'd change on it, if I was making it. Unfortunately, my skillz are for the most part relegated to the ether. Looking forward to Mk II! Local MS Paint artiste, Acer
  19. I'm pretty sure the line is the functionality of the part when imported. The way I see it, you could take a foreign magazine and turn it into a dust cover and it would be counted as US made (if that was a compliance part). Or you could take a foreign FCG and chop them up and make the trigger into a disconnector and it could be called a US disconnector. Basically, it's just easier to buy the compliance parts. Hope that made sense, Acer
  20. Roger that. I'll be sure to pack one in my BOB, right next to the collapsible lathe to make arrows. Just kiddin! Acer
  21. Hah, figures I'd leave out the one it was. Thanks for the clarification. Corrected, Acer
  22. Isn't that an AA-12, or SPAS-12? I can never remember which is which, and which one got DD'd. Acer
  23. I think .223 is the other way around. 5.56 is hotter than .223, and conversely, .308 is hotter than 7.62x51. Hope that helps, it took me a while to get it too, Acer
