joelrod47 373
Well.........TuffPaws corrects ("fixes") a treasured picture of a veteran combat medic.......a picture of himself with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. Our CombatMedic posts a picture for us indicating Rumsfeld as the "greatest Secretary of Defense of all time", and TuffPaws edits his post to read "worse (sic)(indicating a misspelling of the word) Sec Def of all time"......... TuffP, You may disagree with CombatMedic's assessment of Rumsfeld, but you shouldn't alter the content of the photograph that he posted. You do him a disservice by doing so. If he requires you to "fix" his military mementos, let him ask you to do so. He shared this photo and his comments with those of us here who actually care about such things. You obviously do not, and took the opportunity to twist his post to your agenda and leanings.......... Accord this guy some small amount of respect, if that's within your capabilities, and run your bullshit independently of CombatMedic's displayed sense of pride and honor. You seem to think of that as a joke...............................
BobAsh 582
Jeaux is correct. Regulate yourself.
gunboy69 50
+1 Really not cool. Rumsfeld is a mans man. There are alot more people responsible for whatever failures we've had in Iraq besides him. You might also remember his role, and how impressive our military was at the beginning of this war. They gambled on the people of Iraq to fight for thier freedom. Who new they were such pussies. This kid is risking his life in a place where people will cut your head off with a pocket knife, or blow themselves up to kill you, in the hopes of nailing a bunch of virgins in the after life. I imagine meeting the secretary of defense gives him a great sense of pride, and is a pretty big fucking deal. You should be ashamed of yourself. I joke about some messed up shit, but use your fucking head bro. Combat Medic, thanks for your service, and the pics. I for one would like to see more pics from our members who serve. Very cool! Combat Medic 5
For the Styer AUG Question from USpride yes it is a M-203. that was when i was tasked out to be an Aussie medic with the 9th Austrailian Infantry division at their embassy. im doin gate guard in Baghdad (Privates got to do what a privates got to do!) and got the sweet pic with a sweet weapon. About Rummy though, what person would come all the way to Iraq on Christmas eve to visit wounded soldiers and eat with the troops when they could be spending time with their family? Rummy is one of the most selfless person in our government that i know of. he stayed their pretty much all night so everyone could get a picture with him. it was great sitting at the same table with such a great man eating "soldier food" with us... who does that? Thanks SPC Jonathan Mallard here is a couple more pics! Listening to "Gansta Rap" in our Haji House! Medics cant run the turret but heres me wishin i could! Crew Cab Datsun Pickup im so fucking jealous! M-16 Porn Shot little kid yellin "Mister, mister, CANDY!" me and my boys making fun of the Airforce. 6500rpm 670
Combat Medic, your pictures are priceless and thanks for sharing. Man you look young, you can bet your ass that I, and a lot of others on the board are proud of you for stepping up. It's one thing to join, it's another to join when shits hitting the fan. I never served, not much going on in 1982, but I still look at pictures of my dad in WW2 in awe of what he was doing at that age, one day your kids will be doing the same. Thanks, Mark
Juggernaut 11,054
'Bout 2 years ago, During a memorial day parade, I had the honor of talking with some of our young troops headed overseas to fight for their country. A fine group of young men they were! and told us how the "looked up to us veterans". I was honored and moved by the statement, HOWEVER I must state that it is that group of young men (and so many just like them coast to coast!) that are MY HEROES! I have welcomed home many and buried a few.............. (no words can come to mind.) TO ALL OUR YOUNG WARRIORS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. YOU ARE MY HEROES! I don't believe the pic's attached to this document loaded, this story just made me a little "extra" proud to be a Texan! This is how we feel about you 'round these parts, 'bro. Bvamp 604
it is a selfless act to join the military to go to a war zone, as was stated. it is even more selfless and extremely honorable to do so as a person that is there to HELP people. we here are very proud of you all in uniform, and we always have been faithful to you. every last one of you, in all branches of the military, as well as the different civilian agencies/departments. loki0629 55
CombatMedic, nice pics. I spent 2004 to 2005 out west in a city callled Ar Ramadi. Took a break during the fall of 2004 to pay a visit to another city called Falllujah. Baghdad's a nice town, especially the green zone. I think I saw two 80 year old female contrators there running around in tri-color deserts with "Contractor" name tapes. Unbelievable. Also ran into Mr. Rumsfeld at the embassy. Refused to have my picture taken with him. I've had Lance Corporals I had more faith in that that man. Yeah it was great he spent xmas there. What would have been greater is if he had paid more attention to real intel, listened to General Shinseki about the actual troop requirements required for after combat operations, and realize that technology can never replace the grunt on the ground. Hell, I'll get off my soapbox now, that wasn't really my intent for this post. Welcome back soldier. Hooah to you and yours (although that will never replace a proper oohrah...i mean the guttural, animal sounding one, not that wimpy phoenitic crap). GunnyR P.S. quido2, like my ride? pistonring8 1
Thank you so much for shareing your personal pics with us. My friends and I enjoyed them very much! I have alot of friends still over there and can't wait for the next batches of pics to come in from them too!! You have my total respect and admiration. If I wasn't too "old" and raising my son alone, I would be there with you guys! I appologize for any offensive comments you might get from this site. We don't restrict who wanders in here, but we do take out the trash from time to time. Again, thank you for your sacrifice and the pics!
pogy 5
I don't know what to say but thank-you to you and all of your brothers and sisters who "walked the walk" in Iraq. Shame on the weenies in Congress who are trying to negate all that you folks have accomplished. Edited February 18, 2007 by pogy

I joke on an ex-member of the US government (IMO, a horrible one) and not CombatMedic's capabilities and or service, nor any person that is in the service fighting this war. Read the second line of my post. Again CombatMedic, thank you for serving and coming back in one piece. If you go back again, I wish you well and god's speed returning home. Our opinions highly differ on Rumsfeld, and we both have every right to express them.

I have my own opinion of him but just the thought of a man in his position being out there 'with you' is impressive. Re: the 'M-16 Porn Shot'... Were you carrying an old/reworked M-16A1/A2? The old ones had the round forward assist like that but then they changed them for a forward assist that was sort of a horizontal oval shape -- supposed to be more ergonomic and all that. Great photos! Edited February 19, 2007 by Aethelbert
G O B 3,516
Just got home from vacation. Lot's of America's finest were travelling too. God bless you one and all! Those who do not believe in our leaders ( and I am One of those) need to remember a few things. The ones getting down and dirty are there as patriots. They don't set policy, they are the one's that bleed for America. We can agree that Rummy was an ass or dissagree, but that ass was still the The secretary of state For the U.S.A. You can disparage the man, hell call the man the anti-christ if you want to, but you are no American if you disparage the office. I would never shake the hand of a george bush, But I would be PROUD to shake the hand of the President of the United States of America! (climbs down from soapbox) Great pix guys! Liquifly 0
Combat Medic thanks for your service...you guys absolutely rock. History will rename the greatest generation because the current mission is more difficult than any that came before. GunnyR your reference to General Shinseki pegs you as an absolute fool. The people that bring him up as the end all and be all of what should have been lead me to believe you are something other than what you claim. Shinseki said a lot of things....elimination of armored forces being one of his major pushes. Where would that leave us? So you have Shinseki....who else?
