Alexander the Great

Erwin Rommel (A shame he worked for the bad guys)

Simo Hayha (if you don't know this name, look it up. Hands down best sniper of all time)

Hiroshi Miyamura (Korean War Medal of Honor recipient and first Medal of Honor to ever be classified Top Secret)

Teddy Roosevelt

Aristotle

Leonardo DiVinci

"Hiroshi Miyamura wasn't quite the man Simo Hayha was, but together they killed more people than the Ford Pinto."

The god Tyr/Tues/Tiwaz/etc, the one our Tuesday was named for. There is a lot more to his story than what little is left in the Lore.

Erwin Rommel - a great leader and NEVER a Nazi

Patrick Henry, our Founders and their supporters

Miyamoto Musashi

Everett Hanselman, Roger McGee and Eagan Weaver - my first MA instructors and their instructor/"former" CIA operative

The Korean-Americans that stood armed outside their storefront during the LA riots

All those who have chosen to put themselves in harms way for the sake of others.

Those POWS that never gave up and those that brought them home

The more noble of my ancestors

The ancient UlfheidnR

Spock and Worf :lolol:

George Washington. The American Cincinattus, without whom this Country would not exist. Overwhelming sentiment was for Him to become King, but He relinquished His commission and returned to His farm. It is a travesty that todays school children know all about MLK, and NOTHING about Washington!

In general I'm in league with Jpanzer. If I had to pick some though...

Anne Bonnie and Mary Read, aka Pirate Mary

Miyamoto Musashi is an obligatory role model for anyone remotely interested in combat.

Only the second part is a travesty.

It's interesting that generals/warriors are the heroes of most people here. On the other hand, Jesus is the hero of several also. I wonder whether he would think much about the accomplishments of generals? "Blessed are the peacemakers...". How about a guy like Anwar Sadat?

My dad, my brother, and all the teachers that have shown me how to work with my mind and hands over the years, be it formal or through working beside them. Without their time and understanding I would be nobody today. Most will never know the positive impact they've had on my life in terms of self discipline and craftsmanship. Many great men have been named, few probably had a dirrect impact on your life.

Isn't it great? I think if Christ were real, he'd pimp slap a violent, racist fool like Pershing. :lolol: And he certainly wouldn't get very high marks on Judgement Day.

As for my heroes:

Henry David Thoreau

Thomas Paine

Martin Luther King

Galileo

And yeah, Jpanzer said it best.

Eugene V. Debs

I despise Debs' socialism, but I can appreciate him for his opposition to WW1, and his guts to say things that he knew would land him in prison. (I also admire President Harding for freeing Debs and all of Wilson's other political prisoners).

Probably about the same as he would of passing judgment on others... ya know...

Jesus never embraced wickedness.... He did however did come for the sinners, not the (Self) righteous.....
