Sons of Guns is back...

Another great episode tonight! Loved the Uzi, the helicopter, and the 12 ga conversion on that old "wall hanger". Made me miss my days behind MG's :)

I missed it man , Ted Nugent was in town yesterday and we all went to his concert . Actually , yesterday was a hell of a day , Tony Rumore came down for visit [ purely personal , I didn't put him to work ] Uncle Ted came by the shop , we had a hell of a party on the patio before the concert . But back to last nights episode , man , I had more fun hanging out of that bird then I've had in 20 years , it was a great day . I really hope the tv people were able to catch it all [that was one damn fast moving day] . Working with Chris and the UZITalk Forum spec'ing out the uzi was a good thing for me too , I love those little guns . Will

I saw that you all went to see Ted play...Flem, Vince and Steph have it plastered all over Facebook rubbing it in our faces lol. Cool that Uncle Ted had a chance to come by the shop for a visit too, wild man wild. :super:

Yeah the mount you guys came up with was freaking amazing, could open up a whole new world for Red Jacket with military contractors and even the military itself ;). RJF Mk 1 Mod 0 coming down the pipe lol. I couldn't belive what you and Vince were able to do with that Uzi, bumping up the RPM by about 300 by shaving some weight off the bolt and reciever...and awesome work with fitting the AK side rail for the optics...that is what I was thinking to myself as I was watching you put it together and low and behold you did it lol.

Loved when you shouted "You wish you were me!" as you were walking away from firing the MG from the chopper...I think we can all agree here that yes Will, yes we do lol.

I said that ? LOL yeah I probably did . That was a 6-8 weeks ago , I still get an adrenaline rush when I think back on it :) Paradigm didn't need a whole lot out of us , I am damn glad it was us they came to though . Will

I purchased my Saiga-12 built by Will via Atlantic several years ago and it has been rock solid.

Love Will's work and the show is extremely entertaining and informative.

very nice man. i bought an RJ converted s12 from atlantic about 8 months ago too. the thing runs like a champ, even with low brass rounds

I have heard great things about both Atlantic and RJ from many people.

from what i understand, RJ's reputation is flawless, although ive never dealt with them directly. I have bought numerous firearms from atlantic, and been very happy with my purchases as well.

its kinda ironic how ive been lusting over uzis lately, and then its featured on SOG last night. although id be happy with a standard full size 9mm uzi pistol. tricked out, full auto sbr uzi would be a dream to own... too bad theres no hope of me being able to buy one in california though mad.gif

Hey Will

A head's up.

I caught the preview of the coming episode next week and it seems like the Kris/Steph thing will be highlighted. Prior to any knuckle draggin testosterone laden non thinkin neanderthals making any over the line comments, let me say for all those that understand the bond between fathers and daughters that you have one that you can be VERY proud of. God Bless and further success brother.

Right on man , thank you . one of the things people forget is that everything they're seeing on tv happened at least 2 months ago , in some cases 4 . My answer to all is the same anyway , Think I'll just keep tending me and mine , let the rest of the folks do the same . Will

Sucks man , first Uzi I ever handled was out in Cali in the '80's . I got out in '87 , would love to see it again . Fucked up the way the politics went out there .

yea, living in this state is not conducive with acquiring all the exotic firearms id like to own. gotta have bullet buttons and 10 round mags on rifles which are considered standard in other states. i suppose having an AK with a bullet button is better than not owning one at all though.

the anti gun politics and mentality out here just kills me too. i can feel my blood pressure rise every time i hear someone say "guns kill"

Will,

Are there any plans to make the Uzi's available through RJ? I see them on other sites at times and it seems the barrel length is always unorthodox. The one in last night's episode would be the exact size I am looking for.

not at all . we did it as a joint project with the UziTalk boy's . The idea was to do it in a manner that folks so inclined and legally able , could do it at home . The one we used was a SMG , 10 inch barrel . The semi's have 16 incher's which , yes , look odd .

That beltfed helicopter machine gun looked like a M240, does this go by different names or am I mistaken? I recall it being refered to as something like a M58 on the show.

I'm only able to catch the episodes on Youtube now. Still, it's better than not seeing them at all.

OK, Will........

The project I've been saving up for (and hopefully can have Y'all do) is a 30-30 conversion on a Saiga 410. The surefire mags hold and feed the rounds already, there should be minimum extractor modification required and you could either sleeve a barrel blank into the 410 barrel or just replace it all together. If sleeved, I figure a thread protector type nut could hold it in place (with loctite, of course). Probably better to just swap barrels though.

Why 30-30? The ammo is available everywhere (at least around here). It's a decent hunting cartridge. It has roughly the same ballistics of the 7.62x39. If some draconian anti "assault weapon" law gets passed down the road, you can buy a boatload of 30-30 without raising eyebrows. Plus in the event any "assault" calibers are banned from importation, taxed or otherwise messed with, the 30-30 should not rise in price too much.

Thoughts?

240's the USGI version . MAG 58 is the original version . Basically the same gun .

Good call, Will. 30-30 won't feed correctly out of .410 mag. Sure they fit in the magazine, but fitting and feeding are two different things.

I already tried it. You might get a couple rounds to feed, but no chance on a magazine full.

Dear Will,

for Christmas I would like......

Just kidding! But really though, I've been dinking around with a 1919 parts kit which I will send to you fine folks when I have won the lottery that I think would be alot cooler as a bullpup. Yeah I just said that.......a belt fed bullpup.

On top of that, if you could get Tony to give me that "ammo back pack" that's in the infamous picture of him blasting away on a 1919 I could truly die happy tommorrow. Moviesh? Yes. Useful? probably not so much. Cool as hell? YES!

Just a thought!

Keep up the awesome work :super:
