  5. Rkurtzer@gmail.com Absolutely a low frequency rumble is played during nearly every play for no reason other than to annoy. Either that, or the audio engineers don't realize some of us have speakers that clearly play their no reason, annoying, low level frequencies.

  6. Well, if you want we can start debating about when the Saiga-12 becomes a destructive device again. Or get Makc to unban McUzi, if he hasn't been incarcerated yet

  9. Thanks for the great info, I paid $355 back then ,I believe that was $30 or $40 over the black base model. I used it for a while hunting, got a couple deer but found in heavy brush the mag release got snagged and mag would drop out without much notice ! Excellent to see an ad from the time! Definitely a Saiga Fan item…!

  10. So the camo ones didn't get imported by any other importer except EAA. The green was far and away the most common one. There is a brown camo that looks like fake wood as well. Overall they weren't as popular as most folks were not using Saiga-12s for hunting. When I found mine I paid $100 over the cost of the black ones. The last listing I found. https://www.guns.com/firearms/shotguns/semi-auto/saiga-saiga-12-12-ga-semi-automatic-20-rounds-20-barrel-used?p=877155&soldout=1 So really there are just so few of them it's hard to best guess what sort of price they would bring

  11. As the title says. Finally did something I've been wanting to do for a long time and I'm extremely happy with the result. I used ALG FCG, the Phoenix stock from CSS, and a Hogue grip. I was going to pay someone to do it, but I'm glad I built the confidence to do it myself. Now I know the gun inside and out. It functions correctly, just need to shoot it. I am thinking of doing a different stock as it just feels real cheap, and then of course some new mags.

  12. Glad you took the plunge. If you slicked up the BCG nicely, you'll have less of a gas issue. I had my BCG's (got more than one S-12) really well profiled plus I enlarged the gas ports in the barrel, so they are slightly over-gassed. Take your time and do your work in small increments. Taking material away is easy...putting it back, not so much.

  16. I have a pair of Komrads and just picked up a Khaos. Its a bit different with a slide mechanism on the trigger. Not too sure about how its configured but I will be getting into it shortly. Have not had it out as of yet but I believe it will run as good as the Komrads which run very slick without ANY issues. No issues even with one ounce low power leads (1145FPS) The KUSA 12 gauge firearms are pretty well made, a notch above the Saiga 12's in workmanship and possibly materials. Can't go wrong with the KUSA's. Not a fan of their handguards so looking at ideas on how to change/modify them for the

  17. What state are you in? If in central WA, I would help you do it. I'm not a licensed smith, but we could get it done. Otherwise, Anthony Hitch or Mike Rogers come to mind for people I would trust to do it properly, and Tromix.

  18. Unfortunately I'm based in the UK so was unable to send my bolt to the USA to Pauly to get it polished so decided to do it myself. While I was at it I changed my gas rod to the Tom Cole rod and I also made up a vertical charging handle out of 1/2" 416 stainless and welded it to the carrier with 309L I have all the equipment to hand as I've been into cars / bikes for a long time. Thanks to Pauly for your tutorial posts and PM's Unless you have done It its hard to appreciate how much time and effort is involved to get a good quality finish Here's mine I did

  19. Many people here have bought steel Galil magazines and found that they don't exactly function 100% in the Saiga .223. Count me in on that group. The magazines are very well made, but fit a little loose in the rifle, and sit a little too low in the receiver to always function 100%. There are a couple of problems with the average steel Galil mag when used in the Saiga .223: 1. Many of the magazines are worn out. A couple of the mags I bought look great on the outside, but upon disassembly, the spring looks like hell, and the anti-tilt legs on the follower are noticeably bent after some h

  20. I'm building a .223 AK from a Bulgarian AK-74 parts kit very soon, so I've been checking and comparing the Saiga and AK-74 parts in order to make sure that they can share all mags I have on hand without issue. What I've found is that there are two trunnion dimension types that the majority of .223 AK mags are designed for: AKM and AK-74. The AK-74 trunnion has smaller height locking lugs. The AKM trunnion locking lugs have a greater overall height, and protrude lower into the magazine well. The Saiga .223, despite being based on the AK-100 series, uses a trunnion that shares locking lu
