0230hrs, noises outside, thought I heard something. Grab pistol and out I go, swept the property. Found a corner of tarp over the old WWII jeep had come loose and was hitting the side of it. Better safe than sorry. Note, streamlight tlr-2 lights up my property and neighbors, avoid shining in neighbors windows even if they are 50yrds away... They wake up too. Good thing they know and like me. Now I can't get back to sleep.

0500 wake-up, 0515-0530 breakfast, 0530-0545 finish loading gear, 0545-0600 double check, 0600-0700 travel, ice/bait, 0700-0800 wait for ferry, 0845-0900 arrive Ft.Morgan, 0900-0930 hike out to Ft. Morgan Point, 0930-0945 rig tackle/prep bait... 1000-1600 FISHING!

A quality Father & Son day with my 6yr'ol... Range day! Picked up a cheap $10. .22/.17 spinner target set, my boy had a blast with it all day long. He ended up with it at 25yards, making that SOB spin like a whirling dervish. He also shot Daddy's M1 carbine, just once though, he exclaimed, That sucker kicks! Then he was opening a bottle of water to drink, and I saw the glint enter his eye as he made the connection, "Daddy, what would happen if I shot this?...

As I was pulling into Andalusia, AL, end of my 12hr day, going to the hotel... Truck's tanny takes a shit, just pops outta 6th unexpectedly and BLAM, all high gears are gone, low and reverse only. Nurse it in 5th gear/10mph 2. miles to the hotel... I ain't fucking with it till the morning. Just too damned tired and pissed off!

Bought two Benjamin 392 air rifles today for my boy. First one shot 3" high with Rear sight laying flat, it was returned. Second rilfe, I find the front sight blade to be canted left, it goes back tomorrow. Thats what I get for buying guns in the box. Tomorrow I go to a LGS that has them on disply for inspection.

CMP shoot next weekend. Also, will have milsurp mags-n-ammo for my x39 to give'er a good workout... Gonna be a good weekend.

Dinner tonight was... Huge 1.25" thick Ribeyes, blackened in cast iron, heavily spiced with Cajun Spice/garlic/red pepper, fried to a crisp outside, just hitting med rare inside, smoked up the whole house... Momma Bear is not happy, but she'll get over it. Carmelized onions, butter/sourcream laced baked potato & Ceasar salad. For dessert, a big slab of Almond Bark

First weekend of Red Snapper Season opens on the 1st! I've a slot on a offshore charter on the 2nd... Hell Yeah!

Found a great place in south central Alabama today. Combination Truckstop, gas station, convience store, sporting goods and restaurant. They have a amazing array of firearms for a small place, some quality stuff including Vepr 12s and rifles. They also have all pistol ammo and .22lr in-stock and for sane prices. I picked up a brick of Federal Auto-Match 40gr 325rds for less than $20.00, and he says it is always in-stock. Owner has a sign at the door, 'All Firearms Welcome Here, jJus...

Got my Christmas Bonus from work and bought me a new Mossberg 500 12g Field/Deer combo, adjustable trigger, 28" ported, vent rib barrel with dual beads and 3 chokes skeet/mod/full. 24" ported rifled barrel, cantilever scope mount and it came with cheapo scope. Early Christmas present to myself.
