  1. There is so much good info available online... http://www.brooksidepress.org/Products/Ope...gChestWound.htm
  2. Chile Relleno Rodriguez, Rodriguez Brother #414 It is my given name in the Rodriguez Brothers, a brotherhood of skydivers. http://www.rodriguezbrothers.com/
  3. FSB, yep co witness on front bead, secure with loctite. Then cut/grind/pound the rear out... If you opt to pound it out, you may need to really !!!POUND!!! on it. Then lube up the dovetail and tap/pound the new rear in, you may need to finesse it to get it started into the groove, and then use some significant force to fully install.
  4. The bottom of the ring is about the same height as the top of the OEM open iron, so not much, even when accounting for the FSB since the sight post itself is just a 1/8" higher than the OEM bead, which just puts it into the center of the ring.
  5. Krebs Combat Sights, very nice ghost ring sights, super fast target acquisition and have proven to be very accurate.
  6. They screw in, look closely, you can see the three screws, one front, two rear, requires drilling & tapping IIRC.
  7. Search Function... Use it, it works. Read this thread, it'll likely cover your problem. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showto...&hl=cocking
  8. Do ya'll inspect/test every gun ya sell, or just conversions? If you don't inspect/test standard sporting models, he might well need to inspect his ports, after all, he said he experienced the FTEs on both settings #1-2.
  9. I picked up my S12 just after hunting season, I fully intend to slug hunt next season. I've Krebs Combat sights, they are some damned fine ghost ring style sights and I've been shooting target with slugs at 50-75yrds in preparation for hunting. My usual targets are 4"x4"x24" wooden blocks, I'm averaging better than 75% hits, and my only problem so far has been windage as all my hits fall within the same 6-8" section mid section. I also picked up a Surefire 2rnd magazine, that'll give me three rnds and more than legal in that aspect. Pretty confident that Bambi and friends will find thei
  10. If I read your post correctly, slugs/buck cycles well, problem was with lighter loads. Yes, S12s can use a break in period, mainly just shooting the crap outta'em to smooth out and nicks/burrs/inconsistencies in workmanship, a thorough lubing helps too. The gun definitely prefers high brass/heavier loads in order to cycle consistently, low brass/recoil rounds can pose problems with FTE/FTFeed. I'd start with recommending you check the number of gas ports, and make sure they're clear. You should have at least 3 clear ports, use a dental type pick (a large paper clip works well too) to
  11. Daaaaamn, four days (4), that was pretty phuking fast shipping from NZ, what with processing at US Customs, especially after a two week time estimate... Schweet! Alloy Moderator... That is pretty funny, thats the PC correct rewording for a magazine, eh? Mine when out labeled ' Nylon Parts' Nylon parts... Yeah, no funny business.Hmmmm... Didn't they say they would ship as Alloy Moderators, perhaps that funny business is now recognized by US Customs. You took a big chance with your money, gambled and won, fair enough. That shipping/customs time is still amazing.
  12. I'm going to yank your chain some more... Stripper clips/clips aren't fired, neither are magazines... OK, enough anal retentiveness and joking around................................. Welcome to the S12 club! Mine quickly became a addiction, especially after the conversion process and selection of accessories, truly personalized it as MY weapon. The OEM FCG is a jury rigged linkage, slapped together in order to make the gun into a importable sporting configuration. Moving the FCG forward to its originally designed location, replacing it with a decent FCG, greatly improves balance/ha
  13. TAPCO's T6 collapsible stocks come with the side mount sling attachment. Using the Saiga specific AR stock/buffer tube adapters, i.e. Stock Adapter or Receiver Backplate in conjunction with a AR15 Stock Adapter, one could add such attachment points. I don't see any of the commercially available sling attachment points readily working with such adapters, you could make some your self tho.
  14. One thing worth mentioning... The 25% reduced recoil spring should NOT be used with high brass buck/slugs, just as one shouldn't over gas with too high a gas setting. It'll just beat you... Screw you .... It'll just beat your gun to hell, adding more wear & tear than necessary. I'm sure it is great for improving cycling with low brass, especially in conjunction with the 25% reduced hammer spring, not to mention the fore mentioned, KA plug/ Gunfixer puck.
  15. I buy it for as cheap as possible, anywhere I can find it. Really, seriously. ............................. 25rnd boxes of Winchester's Super X, $12-14. I bought 250 rnds of Winchester Military Grade 00, from Cabelas for ~$5. per box of 5rnds. I've a good source for Fiocchi #4 Buck, 10 rnds for $8.50. .
  16. How do you relieve the tapco hammer? And what would be the solution to this problem? The solution, IF this is the problem, is to grind off the hump that is towards the base, just below the face of the hammer.Tromix, does this mod before shipping, they also mod the hammer so the BHO lever fits. http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=156 Unmodified hammer is on the left, see the hump below the hammer face? That needs to be ground flat and at a slight angle into the body.

  18. Wally World is not the only place selling Winchester Universal. .............................. There are significant differences between the various Winchester rounds. The following has been my experience, in my 3 port, Gunfixer plug equipped shottie... The most maligned (and rightfully so IME) Winchester round is the Winchester Universal sold in the value pack, very light recoil/ low brass, most will have a tough time cycling these. Some S12s, those with one or more of the following, 4 ports, enlarged ports, 25% reduced recoil springs and/or hammer springs, Gunfixer plug on #
  19. Two months?... IMO that isn't a good turn around time. Have you even tried inserting'em, seeing how/if they lock in without any mods? Do shells feed thru the length of the mag without hanging up? Springs properly attached to follower? I hope they work well for ya, without any of the problems common to this product. ..................................... I'm glad I didn't buy any of this brand. Every one of my Surefires has fit & functioned exceptionally, without any mods.
  20. My S&W M&P 15X came with these. I like'em enough for the range, but may get something more ergonomic, the covers sacsucks linked, http://www.combathunting.com/AR15_M16_M4_S...ail_Guards.html look like what I'm thinking of. If I was going into a real SHTF/combat scenario, I'd definitely want more protection for my rails. More permanently attached and indestructible.
