  1. Damn Indy, Although I am definately well versed in the art of reloading, that was still a kick ass write up and should be a Sticky for all newcomers. Very nice.
  2. MadMax, I will give you credit where credit is due. You are fighting an uphill battle, yet you still remain devoted without being insulting to anyone and take take a good ribbing in the process. I can totally respect that..
  3. Looks like you may have done it this time..Nice job. Really interested in the range report, so keep us posted. Do you have any idea of a target price at this point or still too soon?
  4. Mr. Hadley, Nice work and appreciate the forward thinking of preventing a problem before it begins. Very Nice.
  5. WJ, Well, I am under 50, but I do play that game. You need to watch the screen really close when the German pops out and attacks you. It will flash some arrow signs and you have to hit the L1 and R1 buttons back and forth rapidly until you start to get the upper hand. Then you will see another symbol flash on the screen and you have to quickly press whichever button it shows (I cannot remember which one) and start the process over again. You have to repeat the process 3 times and then you get to butt stroke him with the rifle and move on to the next level.
  6. WJ, I can completely understand where you are coming from in reference to the children in the house and not having a handgun. Although I carry a handgun everyday, both on duty and off, I will always consider it a weapon of defense. I am very confident and proficient with a handgun, but will always view it as just a means to fight my way to a bigger weapon (shotgun, long gun, etc). To answer your next question about a short range situation, the first key is security. If you give someone enough time and they want something bad enough, they will always find a way in or a way to ste
  7. Ted, Congrats on your conversion. Nice looking gun.
  8. WJ, Plain jane Remington 870 kept around the house for self defense. Plus all of the duty gear and batbelt items are never far away. The biggest issue is that many people never know where they will be in the house when a possible intruder comes knocking. But they have to get past the dog first, which just may give me enough time to make it anywhere I need to go. Great topic though.
  9. Sounds like you had some fun with the new gun. Congrats and I'm sure that you will be able to figure out all of the little minor problems and get it running perfect in no time.
  10. Saiga, I have used both the plate and magazine cap sling mounts in the past. The cap will allow the sling to swivel around, but it seem to always get in my way by having the sling hang straight down. The plate is stronger in my opinion and put the sling on the side, which is just my preference. Both are good options, but I just prefer the plate.
  11. DSM, Nice looking gun that you have there and congrats on the finished product. Have fun with the shoot and the sore shoulder if you are planning on 1000 rounds over a weekend
  12. Cobra, Although I did not ask the question, I have wondered that in the past as well. Thanks for responding to this post..I'm always up for a good read. Sparky, Great question and thank you for asking about it. I guess we can all learn something.
  13. Frustrated, Nice job on the conversion. It actually looks much better that I was expecting due to the laws that you are subject to abide by. I see that you have kept your Radd lock key close at hand. Overall, very nice gun. Elvis and Utah, The Radd lock basically locks the mag into place so that you cannot remove it without unlocking the device. I have seen several people become proficient at unlocking and reloading, but it does take extra time. The key can be seen hanging from the cord attached to the trigger guard in the picture if I am correct. Hope that helps.
  14. I am happy to wait for a good solid design to come into the market, preferably from one of the vendors on this site. No need to offer up another shameless plug for Cobra or MD...oops I am just glad to see that this posting has 16 responses now and has remained civil. I still remember the last one
  15. Very nice and congrats on getting it finished. Thanks for the pics.
  16. I own the both 10/22 and the GSG5 rifle. Although I like both, I still prefer the GSG. Would really like to get ahold of the pistol to match the rifle.
  17. Sicktooth, I just picked up a nice one from Peachstateguns (forum Vendor) a few days ago. I think that they still have a few left if you are interested. I wasn't sure if you were looking for new or used and figured that I would toss that out as a option for you.
  18. Holy crap, that is some scary stuff right there. Especially the asteroid impact. Very cool find though.
  19. Me waits for the buying panic. As previously stated, I'm pretty sure that we would have been told by now by our forum vendors. I think that they were really giving you a fish story on that one.
  20. Azrial stated it perfectly. Glad to hear everyone made it out ok.
  21. Welcome to the board Gopher. And again, thank you for your service.
  22. Krom, Thank you for your input and clarification. It was right along my same thoughts as well. In a true SHTF situation, I would gladly take all the help that was offered without question. Any gun that you choose out of the three, you will be likely able to find ammo. But there is something to be said about using a caliber that is currently produced for our own military and LE. I think my first choice would still be the AK, but obviously in the civilian (semi) version.
  23. Vultite, Thanks for the review. I have been curious about the new handguard and you answered every question and concern that I was having. Great job.
