  1. I don't know where you read that, but I can tell you without a doubt that isn't true. first off, there is no trunion on a PPS43, the stock is attached to the receiver. I have a PPS43 pistol and order a parts kit from IO (a few months ago)for 70 bucks just to get 4 more mags for it, everywhere else I looked at a mag for it cost around 35 bucks plus shipping. anyway, I looked at how the stock release is set up on the parts kit to what it's like on the pistol. and it's not that big of a thing to make the one on the pistol functional. it entales taking the stock release button off t
  2. I fired 00 buck out of my S12 that has a 13 inch barrel, with no recoil pad, and it didn't kick that bad. it felt more like a .308 kick
  3. I bought one, not heavy at all, just looks that way. it's more "beefier" then other ACE style stocks, and with a price of 65 bucks from DPH it was a incentive for me to get that along with the internal block for a flat rate shipping of $7.95. too bad they were sold out of the folding attachment, otherwise I would have gotten that as well.
  4. not if you cut the barrel down to 13 inches
  5. that's because it's won't. it tells you it's for SAIGA rifles, not SAIGA shotguns. it tells you right on the page: Fits AK47, AK74 and Saiga 7.62x39, 223, and 5.45x39. http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-460/Saiga-Lower-Hand-guard/Detail
  6. seems like half the members there are adolencences, with a strange fixation on "zombies". the other half are wannabes. it's one thing to post on a forum about 'zombies", but you really have to be a total dolt to put that on a gov't form, as a reason. seems like that boy can't seperate reality from fantasy
  7. today I just got my approved form 1 in my mailbox, to SBS my SAIGA. took 106 days, mailed off 5 nov 10. I know that it was a bad time to submit the form right before the holidays, thanksgiving/x-mas, not to mention people take vacation time, so I was set not to see this until march or april. I should have pre-folded the form, instead of putting it all in large envelope. if I would have done that, I would have moved the passport photo down, isntead of affixing it to where it says to affix it. now there is a a fold right in the middle of the picture. oh well, not a biggie.
  8. I have one that once started life as VECTOR 53 pistol. I SBR'd that puppy, took the end cap off and put a A3 stock on it, no gunsmith required, total time to convert 2 minutes . I love it, shoots great. mags, other then the 40 rounders, are going to be very, very pricy. and there is no mag well adpater that will allow for use of M16 mags. I will tell you that even for being small it's a heavy puppy.
  9. just to let you ohio boys know there will be a grand opening of a new gun shop, AMERICAN SPECIALTY ARMS AND AMMO - 9 south Main St. in Rittman, Ohio 44270 (just south of Wadsworth) on Monday 18 Oct at 2PM. Chris (the owner) wll also be getting a 07 FFL/SOT in a couple of months
  10. if you are going to use this as a hunting mag, just block the factory 5 rounder that came with it. that is what everyone else that hunts with shotguns do. it's a simple matter of taking out the floorplate insert a piece of wood so you can't load more then a couple shells and then call it a day. then if you're not out there hunting, take the piece of wood out. no need to cut anything. price for that conversion: free. I'm sure there is a piece of wood somewhere laying around near your home.
  11. demand, probably not a big demand for 2 round mags.
  12. so what? they won't sell to califonia, that just means people will buy their rifle ammo from someone else, and CTD will lose out on a lot of sales. this is the same kind of stupidity that some FFLs won't sell firearms that are legal to own in california because they don't like the laws there. or have to get a document downloaded to ship to a authorized califonia FFL, that doesn't cost them a cent to do, so be it, it just means that someone else will step in and take advatange of their stupidity and make money. as for the whole nonsense of them gouging durning the obama sca
  13. so you're going to do a form 1 pay the 200 dollar tax, then wait for the approved form to come back so you can have a 37mm that attaches to a shotgun of all things, so you can shoot bean bags, rubber shot or flechette. you know you can buy rubber shotshells, or beanbag shotshells, tear gas/pepper etc.. and shoot them out of the SAIGA 12, these are "less then lethel" rounds. I believe the 200 dollar tax would be put better on doing a SBS. but, if a 37MM DD, makes you happy, then it makes you happy.
  14. a 37mm is not a DD. as that only shoots flares, and is smooth bore. you can buy those without doing a background check, or go through any FFL, you can buy those through the mail, unless your state has a law against you having one, like Ca. a 40mm is a DD, since that is a grenade launcher. and don't get the idea that just because you have a 40mm launcher, that you can shoot HE grenades out of it, you can't. each HE round is a DD in itself, has to be registered individully with a 200 dollar tax on each one. people that buy a registered 40mm, just shoot practice rounds - ("chalk r
  15. 5 bucks is for a transfer, to make one it's 200 bucks
  16. if your state and local community allows you to own a AOW, then you just fill out 2 ATF form 1s, have your chief law enforcement officer sign the forms, send those along with 2 fingerprint card (fd258) 2 passport photos, a citizenship form and 200 dollars for the tax, to the NFA branch. in 4-6 months the approved form will come back. then just make the adapter
  17. that's a good deal there, the ohio dept. of natural resources runs shooting ranges up here, and it also cost 5 bucks to use the range for a day. but if you opt for a 1 year range pass for 24 bucks, you can go everyday if you like. I have went 8 times so far this year.
  18. if you want to shoot a machine gun, these guys will give you a machine gun to use give you all the ammo for free. and on top of all that, they will even pay you to shoot it. : link to get your own machine gun
  19. bench shooting . had enough the other stuff while I was in the Army, now when I shoot I want to be comfortable.
  20. my advice would be to give a call to the NFA branch, (304) 616-4500. it maybe 1 year, but I have not come across anything on the ATF website that says that.
  21. I don't know about anyone else, but I have no issues with "deformation" of shotgun shells in my SAIGA. lock the bolt back, inset mag/drum fully loaded, let the bolt strip the first round into chamber. that leaves the mag with one less shell and enough room in it so that the shell isn't deformed from the bolt. if I was going to insert a loaded mag in it without chambering a shell, I would leave one round out of the mag, so that the bolt doesn't crush the shell.
  22. don't hold your breath. the ruling will not affect any of "AW" ban laws currently in place. the narrow scope of the SC ruling and the one that was posed before the court, was on handguns, in perticular, as a means of self defense in ones own home. this was the case in both the heller and McDonald suits, rifes don't fall into that catagory, despite what we may think. the changes you will see in chicago, and similar communities that have a total ban on handgun ownership, is their rewriting of the law for handguns only. NYC and cities/communities that have similar laws, will not be affecte
