  1. I have a Winchester Garand 1380xxx receiver($250) that I used to build a Sarco supplied parts kit($395) including a SA barrel and a mixture of WRA, SA, and BMB parts. Also came with a fairly decent walnut stock. I knew that it wouldn't be very collectible so I didn't mind the parts mix. It turned out to be a very nice shooter. Open sights it shoots mostly in the black which I can barely see at 100yds. 2. Try Dinzag for the gas block tap. it is NOT the same thread pattern as the muzzle. Use lots of cutting oil when using the tap and go slowly, 1/4 to 1/2 turn then back off at a time. I think it was an M22x1.0. nyclu3

  4. Saturday at a friend's 50th Birthday party that was awesome. Sunday building a floor platform for my son in law's new shed and enjoyed my stepdaughter's BBQ. Had watergun fights with my grandsons, 5yrs and 1.5yrs old. Monday unpacked the new shed and assembled it. Splashed around in the kiddie pool with my grandkids. Finished the weekend by talking to my dad who just got back from the Philippines and my daughter in Newport News, VA. Hope everyone had a great weekend. nyclu3

I see that I put this post in the wrong section so let me make it right... I recently aquired a K98 Mauser that had been abused by a friend who was not a gun person. It turned out to be a Styr bnz 43 that had a cracked stock, missing safety, handguard, front sight and hood, and both barrel bands. While looking for the correct stock for the gun, I came across a Yugo M24 stock that wa

  8. In stead of pennies, use some copper detail from an electrical panel or isolated ground bar. Make sure it is copper, it will have a reddish hue to the copper color, not a silverish tint. Scotchbrite the surface if in doubt of the copper. nyclu3
