  1. You'd have to pay me a hell of a lot more than $800 a month to shit myself on a daily basis. How about a tax on stupid people? That would solve our debt problems pretty quickly.
  2. I'll keep buying my AKs from Russia and my ARs from the US. Don't want to upset the natural order of the universe.
  3. So far my AR build has been much easier than my saiga converion. Hope it stays that way.

It's not that hard if you get it right away, but frustrating if you don't. Aside from shooting a spring and detent across the room which took me a while to find, the AR is even easier.

  5. I have a saiga .223 with a folder that I registered as a pistol. Seems pretty wack to have to do but I do like the idea of a concealed carry AK. But Cabelas sells AK folding stocks and I'd bet most of those were never registered. The cop that I did the registration with (super nice guy by the way), was a little unsure of what the actual procedure was. We stumbled through it so I could be legit, but it was pretty clear that almost no one actually does it. Still want to get an AMD so hopefully that will be possible some day.
  6. MTPredator-Don't get me wrong, aimpoints are slick and I'd love to have one, but they're not practical for me personally. The odds of me competing in a 3 gun, or kicking down doors and clearing houses in an urban combat setting are right up there with the zombie apocoplyse. So, while they seem to be a great piece of equipment and I'm sure many professionals use them, it's unlikely that I'll ever really need one.
  7. PMC-I try to pick up a box every couple of weeks so it's not really missed out of the wallet.
  8. How are you doing on optics. I've got the same dilema, and am thinking about an aimpoint or a night vision scope. Both are pretty impractical for me, but I'm trying to decide based on cool factor alone, not real world application.
  9. love the ad. But it begs the question, what is the best zombie load? And by that I mean, what makes one .223 round a better for zombies than a different .223 round?
  10. I have a lot of ARs so I got the .223 and a MSA mag adapter. Couldn't be happier.
  11. Walking Dead, season 2 starts Sunday. Good times.

Thanks for the update, we were wondering about that.

  12. Hookers and blow. And if you still want a puppy I bet you can pay the hooker to pee on the carpet, give you slobbery kisses and chew on your shoes. But she might draw the line at rubbing her nose in it.
  13. I wonder if it has anything to do with that guy carrying his AK down the street in the UP.
  14. Don't worry, the 5 year old won't get on the AK for a while, so hand size at this point is not an issue. I just wanted to make sure that I was building my collection in a way that he wouldn't be left out as he gets older. From the sounds of it as long as I say away from bullpups (which I'm not fond of anyway) I should be OK. Thanks everyone for the great tips/advice.
  15. Online has the best prices, but I like being able to handle a few different guns. And sometimes you see things that you weren't expecting. I still regret not picking up a new Daewoo for $350 about 15 years ago at a gun show.
  16. Thanks for the feedback fellas. Yeah, I'm thinking pellet gun soon, .22 if a couple of years and the big stuff when he's 13 and up. I've got a nice single shot bolt action .22 that can shoot shorts or LR and that will be a good introdution. But as I aquire more guns I want to make sure he will eventually be able to shoot everything I've got.
  17. My son is getting close to an age that I want to teach him to shoot. But he's a lefty. All my guns are for rightys. So I've got the following thoughts and would love to get some advice, espically from lefties out there. 1) Can I teach him to shoot as a righty? He's 5 and pretty athletic. 2) Will you get a facefull of brass if you're a lefty and shoot ARs, AKs or a Mini? Other thoughts: 3) How old were you when you learned to shoot? 4) How old is old enough to learn?
  18. Can't wait for WWZ and Season 2 of The Walking Dead! Zombieland always makes me think I need to be working on my cardio.
  19. Before they interviewed Hank, the same Fox show ways saying "why do we care what celebrities have to say?" Then an hour later they interview Hank and asked him to weigh in on the 2012 election.
  20. I've actually been thinking about picking up a target .22. Was on a shooting team in high school and over the summer got to shoot a couple of nice anschutz rifles. Looking at about $1,000 for one. CDNN has some used Russian target .22s for $279. Anyone ever shoot one of them?
  21. "AND you can put a Whole bunch of USELESS MALL NINJA CRAP all over it and it won't be any better! You can also put some Rad Spinner wheels on a Ford Fiesta as well!" +1 on that Rob. I love my 10/22. My brother had one when we were kids and it was the jam. I learned how to shoot on my dad's Nylon 66 which is a slick little rifle, but the detachable mags are a big pluss for the 10/22.
  22. Hank needs to stick to music. He doesn't sound coherent. But his ramblings on Fox should not be grounds for pulling him from MNF.
  23. always a good idea to lube it up before getting wet, and wipe it down when you're done so you don't find funky stuff growing on it in a few days.
  24. U of M, MSU, EMU won. Lions are 4-0, Tigers split. Good weekend for the mitten.
