  1. Hey. good job on having fun with your stuff and not taking crap from people. I think the fact that it is based on a 10/22 should be enough to tell them that you aren't staking your life on it. Also good job for differentiating which guns are for protection and which are for play. I gotta say that I love the ergonomics of a g36. If I could get one for comparable money to an AR and non Gimped-for-import, it would be a clear choice.
  2. I also have 2 10/22's and think they are great. They are built much better than most .22's but I won't go as far as these others in claiming them to be reliable. 10/22's are known for frequent stovepipe jams. I think they are great, but this issue is a constant hassle for many of the people who own them. also variances in the casting of the reciever, and other parts in the magwell means that all of them work great with the factory rotary mags, but the guns are hit and miss whether they work well with banana clips. I love the crossbolt safety, and the ergonomics and utility of a stainless 1
  3. I have the surefire magwell, and I feel the same way.It pretty much completely solves the main deficiency of this platform. I think it is pretty much a requirement that you extend the mag release one way or another though. I haven't gotten around to doing mods to a 5 rounder yet, but I am thinking of doing it to my Keep on Shooting. I would like to see any pics of mods you do to your 5 rounders and notes on what worked/didn't. MD has been silent on the double-stacks for a long time now though. I think those were going to require a special plastic magwell made by him. Presumably that would
  4. I believe you will need a modified lower hand guard retainer. Dinzag sells one. I am planning to make one myself when I do the wood install on my IZ-108. I am getting the bracket from the guy selling Bulgy AK 74 parts on the WTS section. I k now their sporter kit does not require one, but I don't think that is the forend supplied with the normal S-12 kit that IronWood sells. It might be worth calling them and asking about their parts list. I know most of their kits don't include hardware. (of course I would go with the buttpad option so you wouldn't need the backplate and stuff if you go that
  5. Yes, it would. Once you add a non-sporting feature, where ever the parts are made you get to play 922® Mix-n-match. I am told that the combo would count as 2 parts still. If you make them from something other than an imported stock or pistol grip they shouldn't add to your parts total. Remember you only count foreign parts. The only way I know of that you can add a thumbhole without altering the "as imported" (sporting) status is to use the RAA stock. It was specifically approved for importation as OEM sporting. That's why I bought one. It is a big improvement. I ended up doing the ful
  6. Nailbomb- I don't know about your smilies, but I have no problem with your pictures. Aren't you an Xray tech or something like that? Anyway, the point is that this is a forum about certain guns. if people want to look at boobies on the interwebs, there are a lot of other options. I don't try to nag people, but I used to be able to turn it off. Even if you think having a moral objection is absurd, surely you guys can agree that some people have no taste, and it would be nice to be able to block their images and still see what text they post. Remember those huge repulsive pics that Glockmon
  7. This is the same kind of attitude that makes American car racing lame. "Hey, he has better technology. No fair. let's ban it or make it useless." If nascar had started 40 years earlier they would still be stuck with model T's. For ISPC, applying the same rule to guns of the 1850's they would let you bring your henry, but only allow you to load one cartridge at a time. Ok, I am ignorant, and still talking. I am just afraid that they will ruin it before I am able to join. Do you think this is driven by compettitors who run tube guns, or more by event sponsors who make tube guns.
  8. I am going to give you a couple of small but hard pieces of advice. 1 Forgive her no matter what actions you choose. You need God to help you through this. Don't kid yourself. Being angry while justified, will hurt you and your daughter more than it hurts your wife. It just isn't worth it. It isn't a matter of what is right, this just comes down to what helps you and what doesn't. Bitterness is not going to make your crappy situation better. You know this. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise at all. They are going to talk you int making things worse. 2 Write off everything y
  9. Worth a shot. Besides, maybe later someone will find my old post and get in touch with me. Anyone -If you are near spokane and know of fun goings on where I can use my s-12, or whatever, PM me an invitation. I will shoot with anyone who is legal and safe, and relaxed enough to enjoy shooting.
  10. Not trying to be rude, but while you are at it why don't you post a poll in the Camaro owners forum to find out if Fords or Chevys are better...
  11. or lurk in the WTS section. Someone always gets their wife preggo and then sells a few hundred bucks worth of neat toys at a discount at least once a month.
  12. FYI UTG makes two identical s12 forearms some are make in USA some in china. I forget how to recognize them, but if you do an ebay search. the american one is always a little more money. They have a different model number too.
  13. so the stormwerkz is less rattly than the ace? have you guys tried both? I have an Ace pushbutton, but I haven't installed it yet, because I still need to make or buy an internal stock adapter.
  14. I'm in the same boat, only I just don't want to have to see the sleaze. Also it is a lot easier to respect a forum member's post if I don't have to see his fetishes. (I feel the same way about smilies too.)
  15. I don't think i want something labeled armor piercing, but I do think the Dupleks slugs are pretty great. Look for the you tube videos for those if you haven't seen them
  16. ~$2 and better IMO. All you need is a few minutes, a saw , a drill, a file and a tap. o:
  17. Cool. Got a bigger version I could turn into a sticker for the back of my laptop?
  18. Well, I can view the gallery again. I couldn't even get my own to open for the last few months. Also it let me upload a new avatar simply by clicking on my avatar from my profile, and let me upload a .jpeg without hassling me about file size or 3rd party image hosting. All it needs is to disable smilies, and incorporate the beta plugin from stupidfilter.org
  19. If you go to the "beginners start here" page there is a thread with a bunch of links one of them is Cobra's step by step guide. There are more pre-made parts now, many of which are on DinZag's site. Also a few people have done a cleaner job than cobra's first attempt. Ironwood designs makes wood to fit, but you will also need a handguard retainer, and if you want the upper hand guard, you need to install a gas tube with brackets. If you want to do all that, go to dinzag's site. otherwise, just open up that thread, and search the s-12 subforum for "wood stock" You will quickly find 2 or three g
  20. Now we know what a firearms "Early Adopter" looks like. I suppose it would be a waste of time to add a gender poll.

    Reciprocity

My mom and brothers are in PDX. Every time I go, I have to stop by that bridge across from Biggs and do a shuffle to the trunk. I always feel so conspicuous. I hope Oregon catches up soon. It's so weird to me that they are one of the most Liberal states, and yet are where all the switchblades are made.
  22. I just moved to Spokane. Don't even know where to shoot here yet. It looks like the best bet is going to be BLM fishtrap. Any one know of cheap to enter 3gun matches or similar? I've been wanting to run my saigas in the open class for a while now. I'd need to borrow the rifle though. Anyone else in the area?- I could use some one to shoot with.
  23. I love the color of your gun in the picture thread. The contrast makes it even better.

    What is the finish?

  24. I dunno. My surefire 12 and 10's have worked consistently with 3" shells, although I have noticed that they get a groove from the reciever by the magwell that lets them wiggle more when I run a lot of heavy ammo.
