Cobra 76 two 2,677
Well I already put up some pics in Michael's section ( http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showto...mp;#entry367800 ) but I thought I would post some more in here where all the main traffic flows. I've been working on some new stuff for this gun lately and have it almost like I want it...for now....lol. I've had it for at least 4 years and it's looked different every year so who knows..... AlumaLiteUSA custom made the barrel shroud to my exact request, I mean NAILED it. Michael's at the top of his class with barrel accessories, and not just for the S-12! www.alumaliteusa.com The FuglyStick free float style HG was designed and built by forum member Jaymce, and is currently available exclusively through our forum Vendor MAA. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showto...mp;#entry367819 I switched out my long time favorite Ace folding stock, for the new, one piece, solid billet aluminum one from DPH Arms. I LOVE it! It's a little bit heavier than the Ace, but adds some much needed weight to the rear end of the S-12. That and you could probably use it for one hell of a battering ram, or maybe chop a tree down with it! lol! The angle is perfect for me too, and my 1" Ace recoil pad fits perfectly and bolts right up to it with the same screws. I'm still waiting for my new MSA internal stock adapter (ISA) to come, so for now I modded an Ace internal block and "cut the dang tang" finally....I've been holding on to the external block for years, and though it had it's advantages, the damn thing's fugly, and that's all I got to say about that. Now I won't be able to fold it with the drum, but who cares? Nobody around here has a drum that will work with my Russian magwell anyway... The latest mod was the full length pic rail (to go with the railed dustcover), that is still in development stage. I'm just testing it out now to make sure my custom front sight is going to line up good with the A-2 style rear sight on the dustcover. I think it should be very close, judging by some slug shooting I did last weekend, before I added the taller front sight.... http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=40361&st=0 When finished, it will have a slightly thicker rail, hinged in the middle, and the dustcover will be attached, and lift up with the rear section of rail. I hope to have these available for sale before too long. ...Yeah I know....lol. I think the whole FuglyStick vented, round metal HG, Cobra's Customs gas tube cover, and vented barrel shroud all flow rather well together. It's not light at just over 11 pounds, and has a lot more stuff on it than any of my other Saigas, but hey! It's ONE of a kind! This is just one of my S-12s. I have different ones for different needs. This one is allowed to be the Black Widow valley bitch from hell. Anyway...enough jabber...let's have some SAIGA PRON! This is very pic heavy....I couldn't decide which ones to weed out...lol. And of course the pets had to come over and check out what I was doing so they get their pics up too.... All kidding aside, that is one serious looking piece of modern metal. Love the look and it definately reminds me of a 1919. Nice job and keep them coming. Appreciate every new part that is brought to the market from you and everyone else. And if you ever want to get rid of that bug, just let me know. elvis christ 451
Jesus man, you've got to quit making stuff for me to buy to put on my shotgun. Didn't you see my thread about getting my S12 the way I wanted it? Now I have to start considering that rail with the rear sight.... Any chance you could make it not be a full length rail, just a receiver cover rail with the rear sight? Gun looks awesome, I like the pic of the white cat like "WTF is this?" ETA: Just saw that the rear sight is not part of the rail. Did you weld it to the cover, or what? I must have missed the thread about it. How do you think that would work with one of the Dinzag front sights? Edited June 4, 2009 by elvis christ
read_the_wall 614
Wow, another fine example of your artwork. That is one awsome looking firestick. You continue to astound us with your talent. thanks for the inspiration..
Cobra 76 two 2,677
yea you'll figure it out Nothing to figure out. Just unscrew the shroud, and screw the brake or choke on if I want. I was saying if someone wanted Michael to build them one with enough threads still showing to put a brake on it, he could probably do that. I'm happy with either / or. Cobra, That's not you in the picture is it?? I was getting ready to ask where the rest of the chicken was with those legs.. All kidding aside, that is one serious looking piece of modern metal. Love the look and it definately reminds me of a 1919. Nice job and keep them coming. Appreciate every new part that is brought to the market from you and everyone else. And if you ever want to get rid of that bug, just let me know. Hahahaha...no that's one of my buddies... Thanks for the compliments. I like to think outside the box. That bug actually belongs to my buddy and fellow forum member krisfox. I'm keeping it safe for him, with the rest of his stuff, while he's away in the big sandbox. No picture of the barrel shroud on your shoulder? Nope, no shoulder things that go up...lol. Don't want to attract that bitch's attention. Nice pictures of Max. He is very photogenic! Also, the Saiga looks as good in the photos as it does in person. Thanks WJ. Come back out sometime soon and I'll put you behind it and let you test out the LRBHO. Max is definitely a ham He's always got to be right in the middle of whatever I'm doing. He's getting so big now, he takes up all the floor space in my shop when I'm trying to work though. He's a great dog though and loves to go down to the range. I need to train him to pick up shotgun shells....lol. Cross posting attention whore Still gives me wood! LOL! .....Guilty! Actually I owed it to Michael to put pictures up in his section first. He really hooked me up on that shroud. Saiga wood...Saiga Porn is good!...lol. Yeah Elvis, Racegal's cat didn't quite know what to think about that black monster in his little jungle. The rear sight is fastened to the dustcover and has an integral rail. You can get them with either an A-2 or HK style sight. The dustcover requires a lot of fitting to work on the S-12 but when you get it right it fits very tight and works great. As with all dustcover mounted rails though, if you want to mount an optic back there, for anything more than up close and personal use, you may need to do a little extra mods to keep it from moving. For an iron sight on a shotgun though, it's just fine. When I make my own full length rail, it will attach to the dustcover the same way. I have other plans for tightening up the Saiga 12 dustcover to make it more sturdy. The front attachment point where it will hinge, is plenty sturdy and uses the factory dovetail mount. Here's a link to those dustcovers though.... http://akpartskits.com/cart/index.php?main...;products_id=19 http://akpartskits.com/cart/index.php?main...;products_id=18 Here ya go bro...I did a search and found where I had posted pics of the mods I did to make the dustcover fit.... http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showto...mp;#entry328355
nycGUNguy 61
Cobra, That's just not right. As soon as some of us just start catching up, you just come out with something like this... Maybe I was wrong about going with BRG3's wooden setup? Maybe I just need another S-12 or S-20 to tinker with... Maybe I should let my mortgage go into foreclosure so I can get some of that stimulus money??? Maybe I should do some side jobs to get extra gun money? Oh whoa is me, so many ideas, so little money now that I have the time. Maybe if I didn't get the grandkids that swingset I would have money for these kind of toys. Sorry for rambling but it's going to be a LONG 5 weeks furlough... Love your setup, dude! Man, how I love gun porn! nyclu3 Edited June 4, 2009 by nyclu3
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Hahaha don't worry bud! Elkhound 91
My 16 year old wanted to know if the bug was for sale! I could just see me daughter cruising up to the high school in that car. Maybe with a few Saigas hanging off of it the boys would stay away. No, probably not, it would just attract more of those annoying, parasitic, leeching, horny little dudes. UGH! Cobra: I'm ready to come down and shoot some more. I had a great time shooting with you and the guys. I told my daughter about the Endine system and she is ready to try her hand at shooting a shotgun. So, anytime you are willing to let us come down and give her some training, I'm ready. And, unlike Max, I can be trained to pick up expended shotgun shells. WJ

Cobra 76 two 2,677
Racer I have used that rear sight with dinzag's front sight and if I remember correctly it did work within the range of adjustment. Hillbilly2 can also help with that question I believe. Dinzag does offer two different height front sights too... Not 100% sure but I think the Russian clamp on elevated sight would be a little too low unless you cranked the sight pin all the way up. I do have one I could check it with for you.
