Arik 565
Im about 2 hours north of DC and we felt it pretty good at work but no one really cared except this one guy he got all nervous and worried. I've been through two. A 7.2 and a 7.4. Didn't seem like a big deal. Just some shaking. Anyone been trough a big one?
ram123 17
We'll I'm a few miles from DC and this has to be the largest size earthquake that the eastern area has seen. Anyone work at the nuclear power plant at Lake Anna?
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Pretty damned wild! We don't get that shit here in NC very much. I think the last one that was anything much was in the late 60's. Here I am running around crazy getting ready for the damned hurricane coming this way Sat & Sun, and now this? WTF man! yakdung 2,926
Nothing shaking down in Texas today. I knew this would happen if Maobama was elected http://earthquake.us...es/recenteqsus/ Yakdung Edited August 23, 2011 by yakdung

David Mark 2,452
Felt it in my office in SE PA. My office is in the basement of my home with a carpeted concrete floor. Felt odd to feel the floor move. I must admit I did go upstairs and scanned the surrounding sky for a mushroom cloud.
Arik 565
I must admit I did go upstairs and scanned the surrounding sky for a mushroom cloud. ....And? I have a feeling the Philly area will be low on bread, milk, water, batteries, ammo...etc...etc...This evening. And all we got was a hiccup Edited August 23, 2011 by Arik
Arik 565
It's Bush's fault! Damn straight! Gas prices have been falling here lately. His and Chaney's idea to raise prices .....again!! Possibly Rove too! Tin foil hat time! Either that or all of DC political scene had a thought at the same moment. Paulyski 2,227
A 6.0? That's pussified to Westcoasters. Earthquakes are scary shit back east. They don't get them very often so they still have many many old brick buildings that haven't been retrofitted.
SaigaKen 338
Was sitting in class in Monroeville PA......just a 5-8 second bounce....felt like when your stopped on a bridge with heavy truck traffic
slostang 80
Nothing in atlanta. This is the first im hearing about it actually.
patriot 7,197
It shook the building and the floor acted like a wave swell for a few seconds. Weird. It was a strange, rumbling sound. No damage here in Greencastle that I'm aware of.
Dad2142Dad 6,559
Just a little movement in SC, haven't felt that though since I was in San Diego 25 years ago. How ironic would it be if after all the predictions that Cali was going under prove to be wrong and the east coast slides into the ocean
scarbrough68289 76
I'm in Richmond,VA. Felt it pretty good here. Dogs started acting funny barking and going nut right before it hit, then I noticed the house (and me) was moving as I was telling them to shut the hell up. Can't see any damage to my old house with plaster walls. I work at Lowe's and everyone booked it out the store, nothing fell there except some ceiling tiles in the break room. My mom lives closer to the epicenter and her canning jars fell off the shelf.
scoutjoe 276
Uhh..totally missed it....say about an hour and half from DC. Had I not been at the plant I probably would of felt it.
akastormi 617
I was driving at the time, so all I can say is; WAKE UP BARRY!!!!! Even god doesn't like Obamacare
Superhawk138 202
I'm with slostang. I didn't feel anything here near the Atlanta Airport. Ive been through plenty being born and raised in SoCal. A friend of mine up near Gainesville said he felt a little tremor.
ChileRelleno 7,071
Born and mostly raised in SoCal... That lil'tremble wouldn't even be felt by most .
BpS12 512
News said it was felt in Colombus and Cincinatti, I didn't notice anything, but the horse I was working on was awfly good and looked a little puzzuled. Felt the one in Indiana/Illinois a couple years ago. That was just odd. Wasn't there one up in the Northwest recently too? Maybe barry and the poli's should knock off the golf and get their backsides to back to work. How many of us can afford such a vacation in the last couple years. Ya like they've "earned" it? Gunfixr 76
I was at work, about 30 min east of Richmond. Felt it pretty good, watched the walls of the shop wobble back and forth. I've always lived here, so it was the first real earthquake I'd felt. Not such a big deal, but not on my "fun list" either.
evlblkwpnz 3,418
I didn't feel a thing .... and here comes Hurricane Season

DogMan 2,343
The DC earthquake blew out a piece of Seattle-Tacoma airport control tower window glass. I'm not kidding.
evlblkwpnz 3,418
The DC earthquake blew out a piece of Seattle-Tacoma airport control tower window glass. I'm not kidding. Was it loud enough to wake the Traffic Controller up?
Nailbomb 10,221
So there I was about to take a pic of this wonderful card house I had built when... No honestly I was working on someones car, and didn't notice a thing.
longhorn 81
I'm not trying to stir the pot but in the Bible, God uses earthquakes to warn us of ......... this, that and the other. That part of the country hasn't had an earthquake of this magnitude since 1896? I think GOD is sayin something, just sayin.
theorangeplanet 968
The DC earthquake blew out a piece of Seattle-Tacoma airport control tower window glass. I'm not kidding. I had to go look at that up... and yeah, it did blow out a window from a Sea-Tac tower... But it was on a tower in DC during the quake Apparently it was reused from a tower that was damaged in a quake in Seattle several years back... found its way to DC to be put on a different tower.
