gunman1 1,753
That's a nasty bimaleolar fracture. Most of the ones I've seen like that were from motorcycle accidents. Got one of those in my rt tibia, broadside on a cow-500 1982. I am an Orthopedic Radiographer (X-ray Tech) and, as my member title suggests, I am the director of diagnostic imaging in my office. We mainly focus on degenerative bone and joint issues and fracture care. Strains, sprains, fractures & contractures! Here's an ankle fracture before and after fixation. Typical of the sort of thing I deal with on a daily basis. AnklePreOp.jpg AnklePostOp.jpg Of course this job allows me opportunities to image other things on my own time: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/37889-x-rays-of-saiga-12-magazines/

Drop me a PM or start a thread in General when the time comes. I'd love to see the gear heads around here come out of the woodwork! I'm a "seasoned professional" but that doesn't mean the guy down the street doesn't know a thing or two!

I don't know but a wise general surgeon once told me the only reason not to do a rectal exam on a patient with a belly ache was if I had no fingers or the patient didn't have a rectum. 2. A not so wise first year med student once asked if you should use one finger or two to which the general surgeon replied "Usually just one but I suppose you could use two if you wanted a second opinion." **Both true stories**

mogunner 240
Wore many hats during my 53 years, tried out a lot of different vocations and never did find one that I really liked till I went to work for a Dept. of Defense program rebuilding the AGT 1500 diesel turbine engines. I spent a number of years as the Q.A. Inspector over the Final Assembly and Packing department as well as Tech writer for the program. Boss hired me because I have a couple of novels and wanted someone to rewrite and upgrade the tech manuals for the program and didn't know that writing fiction and technical work share little to nothing in common. Stayed there and in the National Guards until my unit got called up and they figured out that I can't hear but about 15% and was sliding by lip-reading...so now I'm "retired", but started up my own little company about three years ago making a few firearm accessories, now trying to decide whether to expand or shove it all into a local manufacturing company and let them deal with that part of it and just work on distribution. MT Predator 2,294
Retired from the Military at the right time and landed a Civil Service position working Range Support/Maintenence on Eglin Air Force Military Reservation which is the largest Military Reservation in North America. We have over half a million acres of test ranges where anything that goes bang or boom delivered by aircraft is tested here. We also support the 7th Special Forces Group, 6th Ranger Training Battalion, the Navy run Joint Service EOD school, Air Force Special Ops at Hurlburt and Duke Field, as well as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter School at Eglin Air Force Base. I see a lot of cool shit on a daily basis.
