SVDragunov7.62 0
hey guys new here. Couple of questions. 1. Whats up with Oleg at rusmil? I ordered and he charged my card 16 days ago and i havent recieved anything? Whats worse is I have e-mailed him 5 times and have recieved no response. 2. Where can I get my 7.62 saiga 20" dimpled done into a 103 clone? AK-USA hasnt returned my e-mail and the only one that called me was dave at elitefirearms. Ive heard bad stories about him. What can I do? Funny not 5 minutes after i wrote this I got an e-mail from Oleg. Says most items are shipping today? (finally) but 1 item is on backorder. If any reputable builder is interested in converting my Saiga 20" to a real AK-103 clone (side folder) please let me know. E-mail me or ill check here. AZEX e-mailed me a build for $600 if I supply all the parts. Sounds good to me. Everyone stand behind his work? Edited June 2, 2008 by SVDragunov7.

Everyone stand behind his work? holy shit. that's expensive as hell, especially considering you have to buy the parts yourself. Do it yourself, it's not that hard. It's just a Chinese SKS sling...usually $5 at any gun show.

Dang, that's like $300/hour + parts. Thats highway robbery right there! 2-3 hours max and you're done...it's really not hard at all, especially with the conversion website and YouTube videos to use as resources. I can second that..... you can do it yourself easily. However, look on our main page and you'll find contributors/advertisers here that do conversions for a living, do beautiful work, and don't charge you $600 to do it. Click through to each business' web page and you'll see some absolutely great work by some of the industries leading professionals.

Everyone stand behind his work? the majority of us here have done our own conversion, its not hard at all, plenty of information here to help. All you need are basic tools and time. 600 is definately not needed to pay someone else to do it, but if you don't have time then go at your own risk.

Drusagas 2
I've noticed a lot of people don't change the handguards. Not that they look bad or anything, they look just great, but I was just wondering if there was a reason. I'm in the middle of a conversion myself, it has stalled out the past couple of days *couldn't find the damn JB weld* but now I have everything I need except a lower handguard retainer, which I plan on getting from Cope's but just haven't ordered yet. So, I suppose there may be no reason to not change the handguards, I'm changing mine, but is there something I'm missing?
Agias 0
I think it's because the saiga handguard looks sooo sleek. What i'm wondering about is that why do people put fake SVD-style and AR stocks and all the tacky stuff on them. I must be suffering from a terrible taste in aesthetics but i think those just look wrong on a saiga.

The Traditional AK handguard is beautiful, but my philosophy is dont fix what aint broke. Also, the Saiga handguard is a little easier to keep from burning yourself. b2673ad 0
Hello For fathers Day I took the Saiga & AR-15 to range with my wife & son. It was a good time by all except for the SC heat. Here are a few pictures. The target picture shows the first 30 rounds at the big center target & then the second clip at the upper right small target after adjustment. Agias 0
Kevin, if it wasnt for the AR stock i'd say that's a DAMN NICE saiga. Is that an RPK bipod or aftermarket?

b2673ad 0
Kevin, if it wasnt for the AR stock i'd say that's a DAMN NICE saiga. Is that an RPK bipod or aftermarket? Thanks for the positive words on my non-converted Saiga. The bipod is an aftermarket bolt-on swivel towards the tip of the barrel type. I have ordered a forward grip that has the small internal bipod. I will see how that works next time. ( Fall 08 when it cools down) I do have FCG upgrades parts from Dinzag to install but I am not ready for that yet. More reading & preperation required.

It's an interresting idea, but from what i've seen(not personally) the bipod part looks a bit flimsy.
terrace_mountain 0
double post I'd take that 30 rounder off unless you want the BATF knocking at your door. Do some research on 922r. This forum has plenty of info that will help you out.
