Took me a minute to figure out what CVPI was.

Keep an eye on those Ford mod motors, some were known to have intake manifold problems. My buddy has had two of them and they both would ping like crazy too, never could figure out why.

2003 and up has the newer intake with aluminum crossover.. my 2000 didn't and the manifold went at like 236,000 miles..

My 97 Townie's manifold was replaced with the fixed one some time ago.

WTF ford was thinking with an ALL poly intake, I'll never know.

No problem. i'm tempted to use it on one of there cheap trailers.

Its only a 12x24 foot 2 room cabin and a bathroom.. going to run 300 watt solar and water by 150gal holding tank for now.. then a well when I get another $15k saved..

Have you checked the resistance on your wires?

Cheap wires fail quickly.

Also, in the fall, with all the weather & drastic temperature changes, brass contacts tend to corrode causing open circuits at times.

You may want to clean your wire's contacts with a .22's wire brush & apply dielectric grease in them.

Also the same to the distributer contacts.

also check for corrosion on fuse contacts, & battery cables, terminals ...

& connecters.

If some cars aren't getting enough juice they misfire.

German brass seems the quickest to corrode in my experience.

Also, if post-90s car's PCMs are failing, they can cause a misfire & not trigger a check engine light.

Salvage yards sell them for $40.00, but that's not likely the cause. Just distant.
