In its final form:

My daughter does modeling and she did a shoot this week with firearms. I let her borrow my Saiga.

My first Saiga 12.

Selph Arms LLC did the conversion, and the O.D. Cerakote. I took it the rest of the way, and polished the insides to cycle low brass. (Thanks Erik Taylor) I also OD'd on the O.D. green, and painted my drum...8)

Chaos up front (with a cheap foam BMX handlebar grip)

Ace folding stock.

Go Gun trigger guard, and backplate.

Hogue Grip.

Gunfixer plug.

Puck ???

Tapco trigger.

Magpul rail covers (aka the most expensive piece of plastic in the world)

Cheapy holo sight. (I know.....Don't put a 50 dollar saddle, on a 1000 dollar horse)

Got to take it to the range last week, and test it. It worked almost flawlessly with the MD20 drum (right out of the box) and Federal bulk pack. It still had some minor trouble with the Remington bulk, but not nearly as bad since I polished the bolt, carrier, and hammer arm.

Here is the "Get owff mah propurtee" view.

I used the wire wheel on a bench grinder to take the factory finish off of the bolt and bottom of carrier. Erik Taylor's post was very informative. I was worried that I took a little too much off, as I had a little bit of a "catch" when hand cycling. I took it a step further and eased the back edge of the bolt carrier (dremel stone)where it first strikes the hammer arm on its way back. Sorry I didn't take a picture of that. I think it helped.

The trunion and trigger guard, could probably withstand a nuclear blast.

I also took a dremel stone, and ground down the bump on the back of the safety selector to eliminate that annoying scratch on the side of my receiver. (picky, I know) I don't think it affected anything.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the finished product. With a little work, a lot of learning, and a chunk of money, I hopefully have a dependable shotgun. My only regret is not putting Krebs sights on it, or some sort of iron sights. This thing pisses empty shells out the side, like Ron Jeremy after a 12 pack......8)

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Just a little pic of BIG THELMA... less the mag catch.

Have to file the new one a little, and need to check it with all my mags and drums.

Did all the work myself.. including contoured bolt and paint job.

Got lucky with a 4 port gun.. never gave me any problems.

Almost at a stopping point. (will add a poly choke soon)

I'm digging my S12 especailly after the conversion. For your enjoyment.

Before:

After:

Was very easy to convert, expect for the fricking BHO spring, took a freaking hour to get that bastage back in and now I think I gotta remove it, BHO rubs my trigger finger...

Still a working in progress, but coming along nicely...

Basic conversion:

- Tapco T-6 Stock (reused)

- Tromix Bolt on TG

- Tapco G2 FCG

- Chaos piston

- Tapco SAW grip

Have a few AGP mags, as well as a 12 round Surefire, so I still need to get a MD20( or four!). Would like to upgrade the stock to the AGP sidefolder or a Romy Sidefolder, and grab a Chaos Quad w/ Sights. Hand's down my favorite firearm!

K-var Nato stocks, Ram trigger guards, Tapco FCG's, handguards and SAW grips.

I've since switched to MD Arms Molotr grips. They are 100 times better (IMO) then the SAW grips that were installed!

For the S12, M9 bayonet, lug, Dinzag front sight block and '74 brake are on the way from Dinzag Arms :super: .
